I think this team is just slightly better than '12 simply because of its numbers and the way it can defend. 1996 is the only team I've seen in my lifetime that I would say is clearly better than this bunch. I think the reason we don't have "that guy" is simply because we have such a depth of talent. On any normal team, Towns would undoubtedly get the ball virtually every time down the court.
One thing that has to be remembered with Calhoun is his bitter feud with Cal. These comments aren't coming from nowhere.
And it's a good thing people are making comments like this. Hit pieces, minor smacktalk, criticism, people picking against us--all that is good, because Cal can use it as ammunition. When you haven't lost a game the coach has to manufacture anger.
