Quizno’s is an example of how good marketing can make a business and destroy its competitors. They were a legit threat to subway. Those sponge monkey ads were everywhere……..and then the 5 dollar foot long campaign happened. One of the best marketing campaigns of all times, and subway became a behemoth.

Why no mention of Blimpie? LOL
Loved Blimpie, first chain sub shop I remember mid to late 70's in Atlanta as I recall. Still around it appears.
I'm a big sandwich guy so I like them all. Jersey Mikes if forced to pick.

Can anyone explain what the "V cut"" at Subway was about all those years? What a 17ing mess that made and nice they finally went back the OG of inventions, sliced bread.

Sure. The V-cut is how Subway used to slice their bread when they made a sandwich. It worked good for the meatball subs because it created a pocket for them, but you had this small tiny piece of top bread that would be very fragile. I think they went back to slicing them down the middle because it was better for the structure of the sandwich. If you notice it's a hinge cut, so they don't completely slice it in two.

For those of us in the metro we're getting a Potbelly's and it's phenomenal. But I still rank Jersey Mike's as my #1

Jersey Mike's is #1 for me, with Firehouse a close second. Lenny's is underrated though.

Jimmy Johns focus is on getting the sandwich made, wrapped, and in your hand in under 2 minutes. That means their focus is not on making it taste good. It's barely better than Subway.

If I had a Lenny's closer to me it would be my #1

Potbelly is great (my favorite). Firehouse is pretty close to Potbelly. Jersey Mike's is good as well.

Jimmy John's is trash. The "bread" is terrible and I've never had one where it wasn't drowning in mayo. It's also expensive for what it is.

Quizno's is still elite if you're near one. The most notorious cautionary tale about franchises and how predatory they can be.

Mama Goldbergs if you can find one - not sure they’re in MS but it’s fantastic. Also get the pepperjack Dorito nachos with jalapenos on top.
I prefer both JM’s and Firehouse over JJ’s.
All this sandwich talk makes me want a hot roast beef with potato salad and ice cold big round glass of beer!

Had a Hot Honey Drizzle Chicken Philly today from Jersey Mike's. First bite was a little dry, after I added my own mayo it was pretty good.

I might should add that the only JJ sub I get is the Night Club. So it’s the best sub shop sandwich. Maybe not whole store.

….I said it, prove me wrong.

Jersey Mike’s takes too long and too expensive

Subway is so 1983

which wich suxxxxxxx

Lenny’s ok, just not enough of them
their bread is sometime like chewing on a now-or-later. The hot subs though, I like. Jersey Mike's it better overall. I feel like I'm inconveniencing the employees at Subway these days.

It seems like most Jimmy John’s can’t find staff to work. I’ve seen several that can’t even stay open during the day. The one on airport rd in Flowood is never open. The one in downtown Jxn is lucky to have 1 person working during lunch rush.

I stayed in downtown Montgomery last year and that one was always closed.

Their sammiches are good but the customer service and work ethic blow

That’s not how accusations work

JJs between keifers and the Brewery is lackluster at best. The Quiznos in the Fondren is fantastic. People were very nice when I went week before last. I’m pretty sure Lenny’s and Charley’s are the same company. Never heard of Potbelly’s…good?
