we didn't do this to turn in Auburn for anything... We (meaning Bond as well) have never said anything about what Auburn may or may not have done. All we've done is cover our own ***.

John Bond has to say that because his part in this doesn't have anything to do with Auburn. Neither does Kenny Roger's, apparently. The NCAA will have to do a separate investigation as to whether Auburn actually paid him. It seems like the school does have some info there, given Cam saying it was 'too much money', but Bond doesn't. The only thing he ever said was that he was told State could get him for a certain price. No one told him that Auburn had already offered or that he would go there if we didn't or anything. His role is solely tied to State's end.<div>
</div><div>But Auburn will absolutely be investigated. This season will eventually be wiped away because there's no way Newton won't ultimately be ineligible. But the question is whether Cam ever did get paid (he almost certainly did) and who knew what. That will take a while to sort out, but Newton's eligibility shouldn't.</div>

it will come from Rogers, or another unnamed party. Auburn fans want to demonize Bond but he has never mentioned Auburnexcept this statement claiming this has nothing to do with Auburn. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if Mullen asked him to reiterate that.

"some other schools" had already offered $200K but we could get him for $180K? Did I just dream that or what. Now I have no idea who those other schools might have been.

Yes, that was said, but Auburn was never mentioned directly. Therefore, as far as John Bond is concerned, this has nothing to do with Auburn.
