John Bond has to say that because his part in this doesn't have anything to do with Auburn. Neither does Kenny Roger's, apparently. The NCAA will have to do a separate investigation as to whether Auburn actually paid him. It seems like the school does have some info there, given Cam saying it was 'too much money', but Bond doesn't. The only thing he ever said was that he was told State could get him for a certain price. No one told him that Auburn had already offered or that he would go there if we didn't or anything. His role is solely tied to State's end.<div>
</div><div>But Auburn will absolutely be investigated. This season will eventually be wiped away because there's no way Newton won't ultimately be ineligible. But the question is whether Cam ever did get paid (he almost certainly did) and who knew what. That will take a while to sort out, but Newton's eligibility shouldn't.</div>
