Everybody knows how big of a fan I am of Cohen, and I still think he is going to coach us to a great season this year, but this weekend has been one big Cohen Cluster17.

Why has everyone been preaching to see Detz at 2nd or 3rd BEFORE conference play, John? Because you don't want his first live action to be in a tight game with LSU. Result...Error.

Exactly how tired is Slauter at this point in the season, John? Quit the 17ing ********. We all know that Slauter can catch every game of the season if he has to, he did it last year. You aren't fooling anybody by suddenly acting like you're worried about Slauter's rest. You rested him every other game pre conference...now his *** needs to be in the lineup.

Pinch hitting Bret MF Pirtle when you have Slauter, Norris, Flair, and even Henderson on the bench is real 17ing cute, John. What the 17 has crawled in your head and made you think these decisions were smart?

We have GOT to get Pirtle, Frost, and Ammarati out of the 17ing lineup against SEC competition. I never dreamed we would be having this discussion when we have guys like Slauter, Norris, and Flair riding pine against LS17ingU.

Pull your head out of your *** Cohen. You have officially sucked *** this weekend from a decision making standpoint.

I am not saying Cohen is always a terrible coach...I think he is THE guy for MSU. But I'm also all about calling a spade a spade, and this weekend has made me really lose faith in Cohen's decision making. Quit out coaching yourself, and play baseball.

End rant.

I cannot disagree with anything you posted. This miserable pitching change **** is stupid. The second our pitchers finally get into their groove and find the strike zone they are yanked. He tries to micromanage the talent of this team instead of just lettng them go out and do what they are capable of.

Most of what you said I agree with completely. I do believe that Pirtle will come through. Against one of the best closers in the SEC he hit a bomb. How could you fathom the thought of putting in Henderson to PH. After his amazing 3 double play performance at the plate last night he needed to stay on the bench.

He had 3 career double plays coming into the game. Last night was a fluke.

You take one good Pokemon at bat and forget everything else bad all season at the plate.
You then take three bad Henderson at bats and forget the good he has provided.

I could care less about how many career double plays he has hit into. He has never impressed me and is constantly grounds out or strikes out to end innings. He does come up with timely hits at times but I would start Robson over him and since Pirtle is a 2nd baseman and you are hitting for a 2nd baseman why not go with a 2nd baseman that has some pop at the plate and in all honesty has had good at bats. Pirtle has been battling and going deep into counts. He will come around just give him time.

Why would you start Robson? Do you enjoy backwards K's?

Also, it is possible to PH one player and send another player out to play defense. Pirtle's pop is batting .163 on the year. "Buuuut he hit a Home Run George.. The rabbits" Yes he did hit one out, but what are those chances? Play the odds, hit Norris/Flair not Pirtle.

Well considering that Pirtle has 2 homeruns on the year and how many do Norris and Flair have combined I believe I like the pop he has at the plate. Pop has nothing to do with BA in my opinion. You can have no pop and have an awesome BA. His BA is low which I don't like but given the situation I agree with Cohens move. Norris or Flair could have been used later in the game when you needed more of a timely hit. And yes I would start Robson over Henderson because it is my opinion that he is the better option.

You lost all credibility when you said Pirtle has more pop than Norris or Flair. Don't let a HR against Valley and a garbage time HR tonight fool you into thinking Pirtle can hit. He is below .200, and there is nothing "pop-ish" about that.

I am a big Norris fan and would like to see him in the lineup and as far as flair goes he has not had enough at bats against quality pitching for me to say he needs to be in there. Just my opinion.

Pirtle has had enough at bats for me to say he doesn't.

I just had high hopes for Pirtle coming into this season and have been impressed with his fielding but if his bat doesn't come around the next start he gets I have a feeling that I will become anti-Pirtle as well. What pisses me off is the fact we have had at least 10 hits each game this weekend and can't capitalize and get them across the plate

This is my point with hitting.

Simply saying, "let them hit, they can do it" doesn't tell the whole tale. You can hit well and still not score runs. We didn't hit bad, but we weren't hitting timely, which matters most. I'd rather strategize with what we have, and I'm fine with some ****s if they advance runners. And to our credit, we did attempt some ****s, but usually got 2 strikes on us and couldn't complete the task.

Period, I want a consistent offense.
