The guys on tour respect him for what a great player he was, but they dont give two ***** about him personally and dont like what he has to say. When the Ryder Cup was in Brookline he was very critical during the telecast about basically the play of every member on the team. Now, granted, they were playing like **** but he was over the line. They had heard what he had said after Friday's matches and the guys blew it of as Johnny being Johnny. Saturday, he was extremely critical of the teams play and was really calling some guys out personally. That is the night Crenshaw had the team meeting and basically told the guys everything Johnny had said that day. That is press conference when all Ben said was (pointing his finger) "I'm a big believer in fate". He knew how fired up they were about it. That Sunday morning, to a man, about 6 guys on the team told Johnny to go 17 himself when he came up and tried to talk to them on the range. Then after they came back and won every guy on the team told Johnny to 17 himself again. If fact, if you remember, Jimmy Roberts interviewd 4 or 5 guys greenside after they had closed their matches out, and the first thing the players mentioned was Johnny Miller and his comments over the course of week.
