So johnsburg should just quit based on your flawed logic. Have you seen em play this year or are you making assumptions based on stats and final scores ?

Well that's part of the game. They've averaged 40 some points a game all season so I don't think it was a fluke they did that against Manteno.

Correct....I've seen both teams play, Hersher has a good WR and a decent QB. Had a good year, unfortunate that the RB/MLB got injured. Johnsburg defense I think is much better. Good secondary, and front 7 is tough. DE/OT has offer to Air Force next year. Hersher does not have a runner like Peete. Either way is irrelevant. They aren't playing each other.

Curious, how can you say Johnsburg defense is much better when Manteno tossed up over 500 yards against them and only 238 against Herscher.. Johnsburg has a good secondary???? I watched Manteno make them look foolish all night long..

That game was week 7 when Herscher faced them. Has Phillips faced a RB as good as Alex Peete?

3 and times go film and once in person. 6 times in last two years. And covered both games vs Phillips.

Yes they have a good secondary. They have a CB with 4 picks in 2 games and are strong at safety. Get over the Manteno game...Johnsburg beat them and ended their season. They had a really good QB and it was a wild first 5 minutes of the second half...Manteno lost just keep that in mind. Phillips hasn't seen a RB like Pete. Johnsburg hasn't seen a front 7 like Phillips yet either. It will be competitive.

Well I disagree about their secondary, then again I saw them get lit up to a 6-3 team

Well Hersher is out and I saw them make plenty of mistakes too. I'm done talking about Hersher, they are out.

Same place they've gotten it from the last 12 games averaging 49 a game. They can run very well with Peete and they can pass as well. It will be by far best defense they have played. I just think it will be more competitive then people think.

Looks like sloppy weather expected tomorrow night in Johnsburg. High winds and rain. Whichever team runs well and stops the run will get the W. It may be a low scoring slug fest.

Johnsburg has ran into Phillips the past 2 years averaging over 40 points a game and has been shutout and held to 6 points the past 2 years. The same will happen this Friday. A big difference in the level of these 2 teams. Johnsburg relies on the run, Phillips shuts the run down. Herscher had negative rushing yards Saturday. Peete will be shut down like he has been the past 2 years. Mosby, back after a game off, will run for 300 yards and yet Peete will be the one who gets recognized on the all-state team. Go figure.

Not that it really matters, but Herscher did not have negative rushing yards against Phillips..

Herscher rushed the ball 19 times for 77 yards.. threw the ball 49 times for 423 yards.. total of exactly 500 yards total offense

Phillips ran the ball 41-305, threw the ball 21 times for 220 yards.. total of 525 yards

The Public League’s 3 stars

1. Jr. RB/MLB Craig Elmore, Phillips. Elmore filled in for star running Kamari Mosby, who is expected back next week, and he was phenomenal. Elmore ran 24 times for 278 yards and two scores. He also played in the middle of a defense that held Herscher (11-1) to 18 yards rushing.

2. Jr. Stuart Tyler, Herscher. The 6-foot-8 wideout finished with 10 catches for 214 yards and three scores.

3. Jr. QB J’Bore Gibbs, Phillips. Gibbs scored two rushing touchdowns, and threw touchdowns to sophomores Fabian McCray and Joe Thompson in the first half.

First off, I wasnt aware of 18 being a negative number...

In front of me I have the stats page that will be turned into the IHSA and a copy of the Daily Journal..

Azzarelli 6-40, Koranda 2-4, Jones 11-33... only difference is the stats page has Jones 11-34

Any word on the health of Elmore #36??? He got hit hard a few times, could hardly run in the 4Q... but to his credit he kept playing hard (and taunting lol)

He will only be playing linebacker against Johnsburg. Mosby will be back. I don't think it was anything serious. He did get a workout.

Elmore gets bowled over on a keeper to put Johnsburg up.

From what I've seen, there is a talent gap in the game compared to Althoff/Rochester.

Althoff and Rochester seem faster and Phillip is not near as physically dominant as they were last year.
