Are all of Joker's player now gone? How many juniors and seniors will Stoops coming back next year?

I have always thought a new coach should be given the time to get his first class to be seniors before getting too crazy. Not happy with this year based on what we could have had for a wi /loss record. Picked them 6-6 before season started and finished one game off.

Could have won Florida game, could have won Auburn game, should have won at Vandy and beat UL. I believe progress is being made because we were close to having a 9 win season

I do know that football games are won in the trenches. I do feel that our OL will be better next year.......older and stronger

I pick 7-5 next year and feel we have a chance to be successful even if the schedule appears to be a little tougher.

Next year Stoops and UK should have reap the benefit of the better recruiting that has occurred

I guess the OP didn't get the word, doom and gloom is the flavor of the moment.

But I, for one, liked your post.

Nothing turned out quite like we hoped, but there isn't a point you made in your post that is unreasonable.

Wish I could have your expectation for next year!
I think we will be hard pressed to attain this years 5 & 7 record!

Good post. Ive posted before I dont think this program can turn around until Jokers recruits are entirely gone. Just a different mindset.

Bad news, is that our problems are still all between the ears. We were in one possession games with Florida AND EKU. How does that make any sense? Physically we are much better than Vandy and Louisville, yet looked terrible while losing to them.

Joker's last class was Stoops wounded duck first class. Loaded with players he didn't recruit. His own first class would have been red shirt freshmen this year if he could have afforded to red shirt them instead of throwing them into the SEC fires too early.

I agree with your sentiments and know the majority of UK fans realize what you are saying is true. Most of them are not internet fans who tend to rant/rave first and are slow to pause and think.

We were as close to a one win season than a nine win season. While I appreciate your optimism we had enough talent to be better than we performed. That is a coaching problem, not a player problem. Give our staff Alabama's entire team and watch them go 7-5 or 8-4 at best. Worst coaching staff in D1 football by a wide margin.

We won 2 games and lost to a mediocre WKU team by recent WKU standards, why on earth could he not afford to redshirt everyone?

Whatever you want to believe man. Truth is that we should of won at least 2 games we lost due to coaching. Vandy and Louisville specifically. Auburn perhaps as well. I mean we have to win at least 7 games next year or stoops will be ran out of town by the fans.

I am clearly seeing less young talent on the field than others are....especially on the lines.

Id be shocked if we win 7 games versus the upcoming schedule. Will take a huge effort to make it happen.

I beg to differ...l think the bad mind set of the team is coming from Stoops recurits not Jokers

I concur. But stoops is going to have to in order to get the fanbase back. This year cost him lots of fans, me included. Plus many others I've talked to.

No doubt. I dont think any hashtags will save season ticket sales. Itll have to be earned on the field, like everything else.

I would agree to an extent. Hatcher and Timmons were not Joker commits, however. And Stoops' wounded duck of a class ranked 29th that year....which was UKs best class to date (at that time) in the modern recruiting rankings era.

In fact, there weren't many Joker recruits that Stoops kept. Reece Phillips, Blake McClain, Jacob Hyde, Austin McGinnis, Alvonte Bell (who came back this year), Khalid Thomas, and the OL from So Carolina - Justin Day maybe? The vast majority of that class was all Stoops' guys.

Point being - this next fall when Timmons and Hatcher are seniors, most of the team (98%??) would be Stoops recruits.
