Hey guys-Buckeye fan here coming in peace. I first want to say I think Riley is going to do a damn fine job, and I'm intrigued with how your offense will look. Looks like it's a hot topic on the board, but curious on your RB situation.

Saw an article about Stevenson impressing this morning and wanted to get your thoughts. You all high on Newby going into the season? I felt like every time I watched him I came away impressed but my body of work might be limited. Think Stevenson gets some run this year?

Anyways, best of luck this year. Hope you smoke BYU.

Thanks, and good luck to you! Was so happy you made the playoffs; and showed all why they are needed. Newby was hugely improved last year over the previous year - he could take another leap. We have probably two who could beat him out or rotate; but he is ahead. He says the new work outs have him stronger than ever and " light on his feet" ; in any case imo we will have a much improved running game for various reasons. Most hope for a chance to play you in the conference championship game; knowing the talent you have. Listening to a top radio sports talk show here; they say there is that 10% chance we can beat you on any given day, if we continue to improve... GO B!G

Thanks for the post, and good info on Newby. Felt like every time I watched him he was breaking tackles, and falling forward.

Honestly, if OSU had a game in Lincoln this year, I would be more than frightened. I think this might be one of those cases where expectations are through the roof, but gut feeling is they will be tripped up sometime this year. I just hope they realize they will be getting every team's best shot each week. Would love to play you guys in the CCG- I think it would be a great game.

What's frightening is what your coach did with a 3rd string QB and a very young team last year. It was great to see. So tired of the SEC hype. I hate to say it but if your team stays focused I honestly can see a similar type run like NU made in the 90's. But we as NU fans would love to trip you up in the Big 10 title game here and there. Here's to a great and healthy season for all our Big 10 brothers!! Even Iowa!!Winking

Stevenson is out of shape. Gonna be a tough year for him. I don't want to say wasted because the experience will be valuable, but it's definitely not going to go as smooth as it could. Hopefully he has the time and drive to improve asap.

I think a lot of people throughout the country and even the Big Ten missed the fact that Nebraska signed the Texas 5A Player of the Year in the Class of 2013.

He's Adam Taylor, a 6'1 220 lb former 4Star who had offers from Bama, Florida State, LSU, OU, Wisconsin, and dozens more. He redshirts in 2013. Going into 2014, he was slated to be Ameer's back up. Unfotunately, be broke his ankle at the beginning of fall camp.

He was 100% by the Start of spring drills and looked great in the Spring. He really is a special talent, and I believe he and Newby are going to make an excellent 1-2 punch.

The Huskers also have another 4 Star in former Chicagoland Player of the Year, Mikale Wilbon. . he and Stevenson have similar body types. Wilbon is a bit quicker and shiftier, but Stevenson is more explosive in the open field.

Stevenson is out of shape a bit, but that can be erased in about 2 weeks. I personally think both Wilbon and Stevenson will be used in the passing game and potentially as a kick returners.

I've been high on Adam Taylor and anxious to watch him play since his arrival at NU. Maybe I'm off on my assumption, but I had him pegged as the #2 back behind Ameer last season. Kid is a beast...when healthy. Interested to see how the RB situation plays out this year, assuming that Newby is looking as good as they say. Newby and Taylor will be a hell of a 1-2 punch regardless the starter, and I too envision Stevenson and Wilbon being used in the capacity you speak of. I feel bad for Cross, because I see him as the odd man out besides maybe some goal line/short yardage situations (which Taylor could fill as well).

Stevenson can contribute this yr but with all the talent in front of him....not a bad idea to redshirt and learn

On paper, the amount of talent we have at RB is on par with any team in the nation. I think Newby is finally coming around. He looked much more decisive running the ball in the spring. And Taylor was always a quick through the hole guy. Both are very fast, as is Stevenson.

Terrell Newby (Jr) ****
Adam Taylor (rsSo) ****
Mikale Wilbon (rsFr) ****
Jordan Stevenson (Fr) ****
Amani Cross (Sr) ***
