I'm not going to lie. I had given up, but I exploded when he crossed the goal line. The entire house woke up. I may have woken up the whole street. I have not seen anything like that since Ole Miss 1999. I was lucky enough to be there for that one.

I think that BYU game was 2001. Wasn't that the one that got bumped to the first weekend of December due to 9/11?
I remember early in Sherrill's years we beat Tennessee in Starkville. They were saying State hasn't beat Tennessee in Starkville in 40+ years. We were 0-2 in Starkville in that time. We didn't play them all that often to begin with and it was usually Knoxville-Memphis for a long time.
9/11 killed our football program.
50 games before 9/11 - 35-15 (70%)
69 games after 9/11 - 16-53 (23%)
Dicenzo getting the dreaded 'high ankle sprain' in the first quarter of the first game back didn't help either.
