I'm starting to wonder if Dan and Josh have some issues. He should have played way more last year, and for me, he should have had more carries vs LSU and A&M.
I hate posts like these. You are creating drama where none exists.
We don't run the I formation. Our offense is not designed to have a feature back that gets 30 carries per game. The offense Mullen runs is based on running 30 different plays out of 2 or 3 formations and spreading the ball around to 10 different players. No one will get more than 10-15 touches in any game regardless of any dreamed up conflict that you think exists.
The Belmont is mile and a half race. You don't want to use up your horse in the derby no matter how good he rides. JRob and Dak need to be kept fresh to make it through 15 games.

Nothing he said indicated it was a coach thing. He listed some serious backs he under-studied, bragged about Dak as a true leader, then said his role was to take some pressure off Dak. I can't even squint to see turmoil between he and Mullens in between those lines.
If you watch that LSU game, he was 17n gassed at times too. It's not always just the number of carries a guy gets that wears him out. Especially when he is getting like 12 yards per carry. Not to mention he has to pass block.
