I think what this guy did was worse.Although still clearly in the wrong,Blount was provokedand made a snap decision to jaw the kid who was taunting him. This guy, for noobvious reason, punchedDee in the nuts then acted like he didn't do anythingwrong, apparently lied to his coach and said he didn't do it...THEN called the ref a mother17er for allnearby to hear...THEN took off his jersey and threw it in the tunnel.ckDOG said:Did LaGarrett Blount have his scholarship revoked? One mistake in a very important game where nerves are running high and players are very emotional is not a reason to revoke someones scholarship and ruin his life. I have no clue about this guys financial situation, but most college basketball players are not wealthy enough to spit out the money it takes to attend college these days. Pell grants help but I would bet that scholarship was his future to graduating with a college degree. Thus, going on to living a successful life. Maybe he has alot of money and can continue on through school, but this punishment had to have been because there were other troubling situations he got into in the past.deltadawg1212 said:JSU doesn't get to many opportunities to play on the big stage of national tv and to have a kid punch an opposing player in the nuts, then get a 2nd T heading off the court. Every jsu fan watching that game was embarrassed to have that kid play for them.
I applaud the university and who ever else was responsible for this action. college athletes, or every athlete, has got to learn that they can not do what ever the -17- they want and they will be punished.
Extreme punishment? Maybe, but you have to think of how this affects the others on the team. This is a statement, you act like a dumbass and embarrass our school, we will act.
Congrats JSU for having the balls to do this.
I'm betting not.Every jsu fan watching that game was embarrassed to have that kid play
for them.
