Yep I put this in another thread. Is our best player out? If so that probably makes us better. Ah, the sadness that is being a MSU basketball fan!</p>

He will either be good enough to be taken by a bigger program, and be hated for it.
Or he will be here a long time, and he will be hated for that too.
We are M-State.

You could be right MadDawg but the way I see it is there are 35 bowl games. That means the top 70 football teams make it to a bowl. That's pretty close to the 66 (or whatever number it is this year) that make the NCAA Tournament in basketball. Mullen can get us in a bowl every year but whether or not that is enough for our fans we will see. There are also12 bowls on or after New Year's day so that's close to the Sweet 16. Stansbury can't get us to the Tourney every year much less make the Sweet 16.

You have two teams tonight that are very comparable talent-wise- taking the leading scorer off one of them usually tips the scale in favor of the opposing team- especially on a neutral court

Advantage Us

Once you take out all the automatic qualifiers for the tournament, it's more like the top 40-45 teams. Translating football to basketball, we would be hoping for an NIT bid this year, and probably would not get it.

The Aggies, co-favorites with Kansas to win the Big 12 this season, have won 12 of 13 against non-conference teams.

State is picked 6th in the SEC

for two teams to have the same talent, boy Stans sure holds us back...

We have 3 players projected in draft for 2012(2nd round), A&M has 1(1st round).

2012 Mock Draft

We have 2 players projected in draft for 2013(1st round), A&M has 1 (2nd round).

2013 Mock Draft

I would say that gives us the edge in talent...Now coaching, that's a different story...
