Not even close. Horrible crew. The fumble, the pass interference (call on us, and no call), mystery holding. These guys literally tried to give them the game. Just horrible.

That said, we were sloppy at times. 3rd quarter especially.

This game should have been a blowout.
The sideline female Ref has no business being a CFB Referee.
She should be investigated for incompetency and fired.

I laughed so hard when she jumped out her shoes when the cannon went off.

No-call fumble was a horrible call. Follow that up with the phantom pass interference (called by the sideline ref referenced above) where our guy never even touched the WR... didn't realize what the unsportsmanlike penalty was at the time and thought it was more BS, so I don't blame GS in the least for that. Refs tried to give them the game on that drive.

The PI on Melton was a terrible call.

I thought we benefited though when they picked up the flag when temple was on our 3. I’m not sure why the call was reversed.

Schiano lost his cool and got a penalty. That wasn't good.
Refs should not have thin skin. Coaches yell at refs...take it, shake it off...but you don't throw the flag. As a ref you should not (potentially) impact the result of the game. That ref needs to grow some skin or GTFO.

The non-fumble - my only question; yes his forward progress WAS stopped and he was pushed back a yard or so. So the refs SHOULD have whistled the play dead.

But did they? I don’t remember hearing it

And if they didn’t whistle the play dead - isn’t that then a fumble?

In real time I remember thinking that the refs screwed that up - they realized they SHOULD have whistled it dead and then “corrected” the call afterwards by essentially thinking “oh yeah well we SHOULD have whistled the play dead, soooooo……..no fumble”

Also thought temple got away with a PI or two that we got called for. There was one uncalled one against temple in the end zone that was really bad

Watching on TV, I thought I heard the whistle before the ball came out so I never expected them to rule that it was RU’s ball.

Also strange that the play wasn't reviewed yet they gave RU the timeout back?

I always thought that the forward progress rule just determined where the ball will be placed once the whistle is blown/play is over and it allows the refs to blow the play dead based on a clear stop of forward movement, but the whistle still has to be blown for the play to end. So if SBP is right and it happened after the whistle it does seem like a blown call. Plus there was a clear recovery so I thought it would be reviewable which also didn't happen (i.e. checking the whistle) - I found a reference to only being able to review the play up to the point where the defense stops the forward progress but that's very unclear.

Regardless, I think the three flags that were picked up illustrates the issues this crew was having.

The whistle was not blown because they ref thought the runner was down, which he clearly was not. The whistle was blown because the ref ruled that forward progress was stopped, which it clearly was.
Correct. The replays that RU kept showing to the crowd on that play were irrelevant. No one doubted that the ball came loose. The replay showing that he was wrapped up and being pushed backwards was the one that mattered. And RU wasn’t showing that. Maybe the whistle was a little early, maybe not. But the call was reasonable.

I swear there was flim flam or some kind of AAC revenge with the crazy fumble, PI and sideline calls or lack thereof.

Final scoreboard looks good but game was 13-7 and Temple probably should have scored at least once prior (and could have been multiple scores). We felt a Nebraska scenario at one point but then we had the great drive to start the 4th and it was over. We played way too conservative late 2nd Q and most of 3Q. Need to clean that up.

because at some point the team realized what a crappy a$$ S Ref that woman was and fixed her call.

He admitted it in post-game presser after toying with the media saying "I got a flag?" playing dumb.

He said going onto the field was wrong of him. But he was in the right. I say.. he was calling over a ref and wanted to make sure he got his time to question said ref. The refs were way more wrong with how they handled that. They need to listen to coaches' objections and rules questions... that's part of their job.
