missed the UofM score. Who won.
I was there also (Cannon Center, Memphis). How did you like it? I saw John Prine at MSU on the drill field about 1972 for the first time. Have seen him a bunch since.

from his fan club.

The venue was magnificent. It was like he was in my living room.

Jason Wilber was kick ***. Keith Sykes did a great job opening.

I think the best part was the Bea Arthur looking old lady who came up to the stage and sang along at the end. She was clearly in love.

I was enchanted - literally - at several points during the show. And that has never happened to me. Maybe I'm just getting old, but Prine pulls my heartstrings like no other musician/artist/story teller ever has. I guess being nearer the end rather than the beginning of the tunnel kind of changes my view and Prine seems to really speak to those things we get to carry to that other side.

Lake Erie really did me in. And then when that woman came down and sang and swayed to Paradise, well, ... you know.

What a night. I'm grateful.

He was John Prine. Nothing else needs to be said.

He, never having that classic singing voice, sounds like he did 40 years ago ( became aware of him around 71 or 72) with the slight addition of cigarette smoke and a bout of throat cancer. That additional gravel only makes him better.

Actually, playing or rather owning a guitar, how they played that long without missing only maybe one note is amazing with this being music you listen to every note.

the acoustics at the Cannon Center was outstanding, like Keith Sykes said. I mean really, really outstanding.

great about Prine. He appeals to a wide variety. Old/young, rich/poor, hippies/professionals, farmers/lawyers, bikers/doctors, etc.

And the acoustics in the Cannon Center were AWESOME.

I must have been right behind you. I was fifth row center. Row EE, seats 120/121.

I sent you a private message.

I have seen Prine about a dozen times.
