pretty simple. Jerry Rice was born in Starkville and grew up 30 minutes away from Starkville. The 13 time pro bowler received not so much as a passing hello from Mississippi State.

Service academy kids aren’t the typical recruits as in don’t usually have the same interests as others. At least that’s my logic. Don’t know about this particular one.
