1. Mother-17 our games are hard to watch
2. How in the 17 did UPig blow out Vandy in Nashville? They are horrible on the road- 21-79 the last 12 years- wow.
3. Dee Bost may get lucky and escape this dumpster fire this Spring- he is really looking good. He might be back- but I'd say it's 50/50 right now
4. Kodi is still tied for the SEC lead in double-doubles
5. Whitey plays hard and knows more basketball than the staff and the other 4 starters combined.
6. Screw Rayyy-vern. Let's ride it out with what's left.
7. That was hardest we have played defense all season.
8. I swear to God I saw us run a flex-cut in the 1st half- nearly fell off the couch
9. I think tonight set a record for travels in a college game
10. Without Augustus, we couldnt handle full-court pressure at all
11. The Stands-stall put the breaks on what was a big run
12. DawgbreezeCoastLover was wrong again as usual.

No more crack heads allowed on the court.

I also thought someone didhalf a flex-cut. The second half saw glimpes of offside rebounding in the results of missed shot off a flare before the curl shot previous.

Good thing we had Kodi's eight turnovers to help break that press. Pretty much agree with the rest.</p>

at least 5 of them were in halfcourt offense- maybe more...he literally brought ball up every time when we had to and they had Bost locked down

I think Kodi might've set a world record for turnovers by a 4man tonight, but other than that, and his 16% shooting percentage, he was dominant<div>
</div><div>We've been running some flex cuts, block to block screens, and some screen the screener plays off of those for awhile now in case you didn't notice. But you were probably too busy watching this 2 minute video so you'd think you knew something about basketball so you could coach the 7th grade girls team.</div><div>

One thing's for sure, no one on this board would be able to identify and label a basketball offense or play when they saw one if their life depended on it. But go ahead thinking Trent Johnson is the best basketball coach in the SEC, or whichever coach you want to say it is this week. <div>
</div><div>Seriously, watch that video, you might learn something...</div><div>

My coach had us run the Flex from 7th-12th. But yea, its been 15 years since a refresher course and that video was appreciated.

Good stuff coaches.

If you have a guy go ballistic from 3, you're going to have a shot to beat anyone. Teams are focusing their defense on Clarke though.

If Dee stays, and Renardo stays and gets in shape physically and mentally then they have a shot at being pretty damn good next year. I have never seen the SEC this bad in basketball since they actually starting caring about basketball, sort of.

he was pretty banged up and he gave a good effort with a key rebound late in the game.

i would say this year is a little better than the last few years. not that this year is good or where the sec needs to be, but it's just deeper. really on the sec east. but the east alone might give more ncaa tourney teams than the sec has produced overall each of the last few season.

4. Would 10 turnovers instead of 8have made it a triple double?
10. 4 turnovers against the press is considered good?

Seriously, I don't understand your man crush on Augustus. You've been right on a lot of things,I can admit that, but this one truly baffles me. This guy is loaded with potential, but except for a 4 game stretch in the SECT 2 years ago, he's never come CLOSE torealizing it. He's lazy, he jacks up awful shots atvery inopportune times, he's only recently learned to pass out of a double team, and he disappears down the stretch in close games. He's like Randy Stewart in that his numbers are always good in blow-outs (either way), buthardly ever in close games (unless he loaded up his stats early in the game). The difference is that you could always count on Randy to play good defense, even if his offense was lacking. Kodi only plays good defense in short stretches. Maybe if he makes and NBA roster and get some good coaching andchanges his work ethics...maybe then he'llreach his potential. But as far as his MSU careeris concerned, he's been average at best.

no all-SEC player, and he certainly has his "what tha 17" moments every game, but he does a good overall job for us.

He is tied for the lead in double-doubles in the SEC- thats pretty damn good
He is our best FT shooter
We couldnt break a press without him

It's frustrating when he has games like last night, but you also have to appreciate things him swatting away a big shot at the end of the Florida game the other night to ensure a victory...

Got to take the bad with the good

who was guarding him than his ability to bring the ball up the floor.

But I can appreciate Kodi.. He is a role player, and his game is much improved when he plays that role.

that since you like to disqualify our SEC wins in order to discredit Stansbury, who incidentally needs no help with discredit and instead should get credit for the good things he does (like stay over .500 in SEC play despite this disastrous season), I am wondering whether you'll credit the man with getting an SEC win. You made clear before that 3 of his other 4 wins don't really count in your eyes. I'm curious whether you think Arky counts, or if Arky is another non-qualifying SEC win.

but you are always pushing him. He's like your Tyler Russell. There's definitely good and bad with him....just don't know why you're so infatuated with him.

So you are giving Stansbury credit for staying above .500 with a whopping 5-4 record in one of the weakest conferences in the land? Let's not forget that he was also swept by Bama, who back in December, was considered one of the worst in the SEC.

Even with the excuses about game 1 of the SEC being the "preseason" for this new team, there's no way this team should already have 4 losses in the league.

He told the coaches and trainers at 4:30 he wanted to play even if he couldn't shoot. Lots of guts for a good kid and if you are going to belittle me for saying he was out, then so be it. The Clarion Ledger and Tupelo Daily Journal reporters must have been wrong too. Get over it. You are just pissed he came in and played like a warrior and played great defense on Arkansas's leading scorer when he was on him. Now get back to your fund raising to try and come up with that 3,000,000 you are going to help raise so you can go get us Pelphrey or Trent Johnson who you have told us are great coaches. And finally, we all know you want Dee to leave and not come back next year. Wonder why? None of us believe you actually care about him, you simply want anything to happen to give you another year to ***** and moan about Stansbury. Hell,I am going to ask the goatherder if he can get you an interview for a job on our staff. I'm sure Stans would just be ecstatic about hiring a guy who has never coached one day in college or recruited a player. Yes indeed, we all know you are a hot commodity for coaching jobs.

Two years ago, coach was going on and on about how Kodi was our best player and he needed more minutes and needed to be starting. The SEC tourney SEEMED to validate that because Kodi played very well. However, the last two years have proved that what we saw in the SEC tourney was an exception, not the norm. This would mean that Stans knew what he was doing in sitting him that whole season. This would mean that coach was wrong back then. Thus, coach pumps him up at every chance to prove that he was right two years ago.

Bama is 7-1 and sits atop the SEC. This is exactly the garbage I'm talking about. You detractors just can't stand it. Everyone knows that this season has put the man on the brink. Everyone knows he's in trouble. Yet even when things go well, you just can't stand to give him any credit at all. Regardless of how much fault is attributable for the team getting into this position (even if all of it goes to Stansbury), the team is fighting its way out of it. They may not win another game, but at this point they are 5-4 with two road wins (UM was a tough game to win, and the team deserves alot of credit for gutting that one out) and a win over a ranked Florida team. <div>
</div><div>Maybe preseason we could have expected 6-3 or 7-2...but with the way things have gone, 5-4 is nothing to be embarrassed at. If the team can get go 5-2 the rest of the way (which, looking at the schedule, although unlikely, is VERY possible), it would put em at 10-6 and in a very good spot to actually make the tournament. I think someone on here posted that a 10-6 team has never missed the tourney.</div><div>

If we got an at large bid or for that matter won the SEC Tourney, coach would then spend the next week saying we didn't deserve it or we backed in. Credit has to be given when it is due. We beat Florida and beat an Arkansas team that must be halfway decent because they beat Vandy at Vandy and that is no easy chore. The start of the season was a disaster for many reasons but it doesn't take an idiot to see the team is playing much better together and progress has been made. And if we did anything different on offense the credit goes to our coaches and players who did it. Last night was a good effort and a better effort on defense with players helping out for a change.

An NBA roster? Are you kidding me? He won't even be on their radar as a possible last pick in the draft. Why does everyone insist he is so talented? What are these elite basketball skills hepossesses? He isn't tall enough to be a center and isn't talented enough in the post to be a traditional power forward. He might be quicker than most guys his height, but, again, it's not even close to elite. He's not a particularly good shooter. Seriously, what is it? <div>
</div><div>What he is, is our best rebounder and free throw shooter, who makes a couple of really dumbass plays per half on good days.</div>

and it is so dang true. We are getting ready to run them out of the gym and we start the slow down crap. That is the only reason the game was iffy till the end. Stans and his running clock just totally kills me. We usually end up jacking a shot from no man's land and are lucky if it hits the rim. I also agree that Kodi is helpful against the press.
