Yes, I agree he wasn't talented enough to be an SEC QB at ALL, but Croom's lazy *** is the one that couldn't recruit another one worth a ****. Henig got his *** beat down all the time, and led us to one of my favorite wins I have seen personally (Bama '06).

I get it, he wasn't good. But we didn't have anyone else, and in my opinion that's Croom's fault.

they both sucked but at the same time, it was Croom's fault for putting them on the field.

I am still amazed that we could not find a kicker or punter to replace them.

kind of hard to find a replacement when you never try.

...it was Wesley Carroll.

You know, the QB who told the coaches during the Liberty Bowl that MSU should start running the option if MSU wanted to win.

I understand that argument, I guess I just think kicking a FG, PAT, and not punting the ball only 4 yards is exponentially easier than guiding an offense with a barren offensive line, no WRs, and SEC defenses stacking the box.

In the end, Henig, McAdams, and Carlson must've had naked pictures of Croom's wife or something.

And I guess Henig's win over Bama = Carlson's Game winning FG in the egg bowl. Everyone gets lucky sometimes?

A true freshman has to tell you how to win. Amazing.

...Croom is at fault for putting them on the field. But they were both inconsistent. Case in point:

Carlson only had one touchback this year that I can remember. Do you know when it was? It was when we got a personal foul penalty and he had to kick off from the 15. He kicked one in the endzone from the 15, but he couldn't do it once all year from the 30?

McAdams had the talent, but he was a headcase. How do you punt like he did against Auburn, almost singlehandedly keeping us in the game, and then suck it up in other games? Coaching definitely let them down, but they, particularly McAdams, had the talent to be better. I actually have a little sympathy towards Carlson, but geez, McAdams was infuriating.

Walkon QB starts over at least two scholarship QBs. I am still flabbergasted at that ...

how many guys we had on scholarship that should have been walk-ons. Particularly on the o-line.

You could win some with a fair amount of walk-ons in the 70's- MAYBE. Even that's a stretch. You can't expect to win when you're starting as many walk-ons as we were on offense in particular.
