Just looked at the basketball schedule for the first time...

...when a team expected to do nothing begins to win, people start to study the schedule for the first time. Which I did, & I am seeing a huge WTF. We have to play Florida @ home Jan. 26th then @ Florida on Feb. 9th. Can somebody please explain what's going on here? For a squad that is showing heart when confronted with impossible odds, this scheduling quirk is a heartbreaker.

i'd rather be stuck playing florida twice this season when we have no realistic post season dreams and have them rotate to a single game in a season or 2 when we might have a shot at the post season.

Every SEC team plays 8 teams once and 5 teams twice. Those 5 teams twice include one permanent double opponent (ours is Ole Miss) and the other 4 rotate among the other 12 teams. We drew Florida twice this year, which is tough, but overall our slate of rotating double opponents (South Carolina, LSU, Alabama, Florida) is pretty balanced. Can't complain - a great team, a decent one, a bad one, and an awful one.

What's your complaint? The timing? That's just how it crumbles. I'd say we were lucky to get 2 of our easiest games as the first two on the conference schedule, so it all balances out. Overall, our conference schedule is probably more favorable than most.

I thought my complaint was obvious...

..Ray has a squad being held together by duct tape & Elmer's glue yet the bad luck continues as a double dose of a potential Final 4 team lingers on the horizon. I didn't know about the changes in scheduling; at least thanks for educating me on that.
