And Byars is obviously lying to protect his business and not turn in a lifelong friend. If roles were reversed and a State fan paid cash for a recruit at an OM alum's place of business, they would sing like a canary. Sick of this ****.

Anyone want to reference my post from 2011 about CJ's mom getting furniture paid for by an OM booster? How would I have known this back then before he opened his commitment back up and subsequently signed with OM? Did I have a premonition or visit from God himself to tell me what would come out in an investigation 32 months later?

This is the first time my dad has ever mentioned recruiting to me, ever. My question is, how does this go unnoticed by everyone, even when out state elected officials know it is happening?

Guess the NCAA wastes it's time investigating leads with no probably wrongdoings, since it has so much free time these days.

Props on one of your previous quotes:

And might I add, you clowns have the worst ROI on recruiting class purchases in modern history. At least Auburn has a BCS crystal ball to show for their investment, and their coach isn't photoshopping one into his twitter pics.

But all this is just a shot over the bow by the NCAA. If they were really "investigating" they would have talked to more than the owner about a "cash" transaction almost three years ago. All they need is one person who is willing to sworn testimony to corroborate any part of your story. Then the onus is on the bearz.

Is this the same President of Byars Furniture who resigned as a board member of Cadence Bank one month after CJ inked with TSUN? If so, it should remind us how tough the economic times were then, during the Great Recession, when everyone was saving their money and not going out and buying new things like new Z71's or new furniture. I know I didn't.

NCAA investigations r a joke. Without proper supena(sp) power everyone can lie and there is nothing that can b done. U got to have a smoking gun with video of u pulling the trigger before action can b taken and then it still depends on how good ur compliance dept can tap dance out of it. 17 them!

Unless you have a self-incriminating compliance department that spoonfeeds any possible wrongdoing to the NCAA

Not trying to discredit your point... But I know I'd never throw my business under the bus to get a football team on probation, even if I do hate them. That's my livelihood.

If that indeed is what this boils down to..

Maybe the mom had college fund saved up that was no longer needed, given her son had Scholly options. Could easily be enough to buy a furniture set.

I have as much proof my statement is true as yours, Rouge.

Pretty easy. Go to cjs moms house. Look at furniture and get serial numbers, if there is furniture. Match it up to the furniture place within those dates. They have to keep inventory for tax reasons. If it was indeed paid for, see ho paid for it. If it says cash then Im not sure there is much you can do. I mean, if it is 30k in furniture and his mom has a 18k job, it was prob paid for but how do you prove that unless they have it on tape that an ole miss alumni paid in cash and now that furniture sits at his moms house.

We all know what happened. It isnt that hard. A life long msu fan commits almost 2 years early. Recruits for msu. Msu goes 8-4 and ole miss goes 4-8. When said recruit visits ole miss, he has his laynard ripped off and was sitting on the sideline of msu. Msu also skull drug ole miss. While we prepare for the gator bowl, he starts waivering. He signs with ole miss for no reason and 2 months later is posting pics of his brand new truck on the internet.

Again, it is what you can prove. Everyone knows what happened:..

Yeah, because someone responsible and frugal enough to stash away $30,000 for...

their kid's college education would be the type to blow it all in one day on furniture for themselves.

Nice try though....

Even if you could prove it. Even if there is a photo of CJ, his mom, and a booster decked out in OM gear handing over cash money to the furniture store proving every MSU suspicion to be true. What is the NCAA really going to do? Take away 1 Scholly a year for 2 years. The NCAA is a joke! You and Oregon proved that.

Here's what I don't doubt:

1) An OM booster paid them a large chunk of change in cash.
2) she went and spent it in the furniture store and on flat screens.
3) You busted their *** on it two years ago.
4) Dude is lying now to save face.

Even in light of all of that, I doubt much comes out of it.

You're different than these New Age extreme radical Bulldogs. They don't mind being a martyr and sacrificing their life for the greater good of the bulldog nation. Scratch that last part. The New Age mantra is a blend of 80% Anti OM and 20% Pro State. So, it should read that they wouldn't mind seeing their business burn as long as such an evil institution to go down with it. What, with Commissar Mullen promising that whole 72 virgins thing and all.

Based on how this investigation went all one has to do is just simply say "NO

it didn't happen" and the investigation is over.

Well, here's what needs to happen. If this furniture store owner is scared of

losing business from UM fans, then unless he comes out and tells the truth, all State fans should boycott. Simple as that. Let him pick his poison but you have to figure he's been given "hush money".

if UM wants to pay recruits cash then they need to spend it at UM establishments or risk the truth being told. accepting cash payments for merchandise in your place of business or identifying someone doing such is not illegal. there are no privacy laws governing furniture stores.

Sure, let's try to punish those state "fans" that are disloyal enough to let being good to their customers get in the way of them joining the cruitin wars.

I mean, what kind of businessman thinks he owes it to his customers to not talk about their business and what purchases they make. I know everytime I make a purchase with a small business, I expect that they will tell how much money I spent, what I bought, and how I paid for it to anybody that will ask.

I doubt the NCAA has the power to do that...

unless CJ's mom OK'd it first. And if the case was that she was hiding something, she would never OK that.

Interesting that the guy and wife went to State and apparently contribute to both schools. I'm also sure it would be tough to give up a friend or long-time customer when that kind of cash comes into your business.

And then head down to the dealership and drop another 35 to 40 k on a new truck for your teenage son.... After supposedly buying a used Land Rover for him to drive a couple of months.

Seems logical. I mean who doesn't do that?

I wonder how long before schools stop telling the NCAA and start telling the irs. Once the irs investigates the NCAA will have the info they need. Am I wrong in this thinking?

I would just hope that next time we buy a player some furniture, we are smart enough to find an OM fan in the furniture business to buy it from. Man we're getting sloppy

On a serious note RougeDawg is actually committing to "keep fueling the flames" on the CJ deal in a town as small as Philadelphia MS. Who in their right mind would want to put themselves in that position? In-the-know Bulldog Alumni all over the SE " screaming "Noooooooooooooooooooo" in unison. This guy must be a kid or a glutton for punishment....or not have a clue about how it really works (Maybe all 3)

I know that's how it really works for the OM boosters. I just think it's time that OM gets a taste of their own medicine. That's all.

I also would like our Admin, AD and university as a whole, to look at all of these issues and learn some 17ing thing from it. It's obvious CJ was bought. No one with a heartbeat can deny nor dispute that. If this type of activity is not fully investigated or punished by the NCAA, then let the chips fly. If no consequences, why not break the bank (OM 2013 signing class).
