Not to worry, only widdows and orphans are coming. The deceit is overwhelming.
No. That leaves 25% or roughly 2500 people. All it takes is 1 or even 10 bad apples and we have a problem.About 50% of the refugees accepted so far have been children, and about 25% have been people over 60.
What deceit are you referring to? Do you have information that runs counter to those numbers?
No. That leaves 25% or roughly 2500 people. All it takes is 1 or even 10 bad apples and we have a problem.
I agree with your premise, but we haven't accepted 10,000 yet and they aren't likely to reach that number this year, so it doesn't leave 2500 people. Actually only about 2200 have been accepted in total so that other 25% would be 550 people. But, I agree, it only takes a few to create a problem.
They are also turning away over 50% of the applicants. And of the 25% that are left that aren't children and aren't over 60, I have no idea how they are distributed, but I'd guess none (or nearly none) are single men age 20-40.
I don't understand where people get this impression that if a refugee wants to come here we just welcome them with open arms without checking them out.
[laughing]Hasan wasn't "allowed into the US", he was born in VA
Hey, let's not any facts get in the way ... afterall, somebody put graphics on a picture and put it on the internet so it must be true.
"
Hasan was born in Arlington County, Virginia, to Palestinian parents who immigrated to the U.S. from al-Bireh in the West Bank. Raised as a Muslim together with his two younger brothers, he attended Wakefield High School in Arlington for his freshman year. After his family moved to Roanoke in 1985, he attended William Fleming High School in Roanoke, Virginia. He graduated from high school in 1988.
Hasan joined the United States Army immediately after high school in 1988 and served eight years as an enlisted soldier while attending college. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in biochemistry

Lol, didn't read it all. I just read Hassan. Change the graphic to US Military, and it still rings true. You can't tell who's a radical and who isn't by a background check.
Yeah, you're right ... so we should just lock everybody in their homes and not let anybody into the US Military, even US born citizens. They may decide to kill other military members on their base ... or when they go to school they may decide to shoot as many people in the school as they can so we should keep people out of schools too. There have been mass shootings at Malls as well, so we may as well shut all of those down too.
Your original post/graphic has absolutely no relevance whatsoever to the topic at hand and you're just trying to save face now.
I never made that claim. I was just pointing out the mathematical potential.I don't understand where people get this impression that if a refugee wants to come here we just welcome them with open arms without checking them out.
I didn't say that. I said allow the refugees in. That's totally legal. Obama's amnesty executive actions, on the other hand, have not been. But to say that we're vetting these refugees and there will be no terrorists embedded within after a 2 year waiting period is ridiculous.
And yeah, the picture was a bad move on my part.

I've been a we need to help out Syrian refugees for 3-4 years now.
According to yesterday report, president proposes, 10,000 for FY 2016. He then proposes 85,000 for FY2017. Gotta keep up to make your numbers meaningful. To make your position more laughable, < 550 terrorists have been involved in: 9/11, Russian Plane; and Paris. Those people have learned to do a hell of a lot of damage using few people. Can you fathom what they could do with a coordinated army of 550?I agree with your premise, but we haven't accepted 10,000 yet and they aren't likely to reach that number this year, so it doesn't leave 2500 people. Why not? They lied about it then and all followers bought and supported it. Cannot understand those who cannot learn from the first kick by a jackass. You shouldn't be required to get the second kick to see the light. That is too damned dumb. But those in the Obama administration that have a question become former members fast.is now promising an extensive vetting process.

Couple of points. It was Jonestown. The other point that I agree partially with is that if we continue to show good will it does tear down those walls. However, the connected, reasonable, and intelligent are not who AQ and ISIS are praying on to turn into Shaheeds. Sure, there is an element of those folks as well, but they are legitimately indoctrinating an entire generation with their hate through all facets available. Mostly through teaching at radical mosques and online media. This is only going to get bigger as it drags on.Well, there are a lot easier ways for a terrorist to get into our country than to pose as a refugee and wait 2 years, so it doesn't even make sense for them to do that. On the other hand, I agree that there's not likely to be any vetting system that's going to assure we won't be subject to terrorism. After all, Bin Laden was our ally at one point ... or we were his ... however you want to look at it. But we can dramatically reduce the odds.
I understand you said to allow the refugees in. There's an aspect to doing this that I think many aren't considering. These terrorist organizations preach that we are the infidels and that we want death to Islam, and they use that message to recruit new members and to motivate them to commit the acts they do. By opening our arms to Muslim refugees (after careful screening) do we not begin to tear down that whole thought process? Tearing down the legitimacy of their claims is where this will ultimately be won. Keeping in mind that we will NEVER get rid of a lot of this lunacy completely. There will always be lost souls looking to be a part of something ... which is how you end up with Johnstown, and the purple cape suicide folks and other instances where people become so easily manipulated. However, we can make a huge dent in it.
I could be totally wrong ... just a thought I had.

How can you not know that the system for vetting refugees has been in place for decades? Never mind, you do know it, but the facts don't fit your narrative.is now promising an extensive vetting process.
I understand that, but, this admin does have a history of failing and incompetence. How can you not know that the system for vetting refugees has been in place for decades? Never mind, you do know it, but the facts don't fit your narrative.
