and here are some tidbits:
The NEW era begins on Feb. 20th against North Florida or Northern Illinois.
Game that might be worth skipping work over- March 18th. UAB comes to Dudy-Noble.
Best road trip if you have unlimited resources- Hawaii.
Best road trip if you're me- Memphis.
First SEC series- March 13 against South Carolina
Other SEC series of note- April 17 against UK, May 1st against Bama, May 14th against LSU. We close the season with SEC series against Bama, at Ole Miss, and LSU. SBW has not been announced yet.
Also, of note: We have apparently split the USM series just like Ole Miss does. We play them early in the year in Hattiesburg and then they come to Starkville later in the year. Only one game in the Jackson area so far- of course it's the Governor's Cup on April 14th. There are a couple of road games that look like they have the potential to maybe be bought out and moved to Pearl- La-Monroe, South Alabama, and maybe UAB.
The schedule looks very different than in the past. We play very few teams consecutively- it seems like we've split up games against the same team more than in the past. There is no big name non-conference team that is coming to Dudy-Noble this year a la USC Trojans, Arizona, or Baylor. Our schedule does look a little bit easier than last years for those who wondered how we would schedule since Cohen supposedly had an "easy" non-conference schedule at UK, but it's basically the same but we replace Baylor with Hawaii and the Cadence Classic teams with Nicholls State.
