Oline. It's all about the Oline.
I never said our OLine situation was bad. I just think it's a box of chocolates at this point. If we have a good Oline, we'll be very dangerous. If we don't, we'll be about as good as we have been the last 3-4 years.
My wool isn't growing based on Dak and the Offense. My wool is growing because of our defense. If it is as good as we think it might be our offense will be good enough.
I'll be happy if we win six games and make a bowl game.
Anything more than that is lagniappe.
This mentality is getting stupid. Why the 17 would you choose to think this? We only had one significant loss, Gabe, and while you can't replace a guy like that, we're filling his spot with a lot of talent and potential. Siddoway is no big loss because the RT replacement should be an upgrade, whether it's Malone or Senior. We return a senior LT and C who should both compete for All-SEC, and a solid, experienced RG. And there are several guys behind them who have came on very strong in the spring, so we've got enough depth to survive anything barring a complete catastrophe as far as injuries are concerned.
Our o-line situation is nowhere near as bad as some of you are dead set on believing. Yeah, we way not have anyone truly elite (yet - Clayborn will be as good or better than Gabe before his college career is over), but we've got a more than solid group that's going to be just fine.
So you'll be happy losing to Arkansas at home, Vandy at home or Kentucky in addition to ole miss, TA&M at home, Auburn at home, Alabama and LSU? Did you just step out of a time machine from 2005?
I think we lose to Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Texas A&M and Ole Miss.
But I wouldn't put it past us to screw up and drop a game somewhere that we shouldn't (most likely at Kentucky). That puts us at 6-6. And in a bowl. And with our long history of losing seasons, I'm not going to scoff at simply reaching a bowl game.
Again, I'm keeping my expectations low. I'll be very happy to be wrong.
