"A lot of talk on these fine Interwebs about the Senior Day snafu at Ole Miss on Saturday. Three guys — David Hankins, Justin Smith and Vincent Moss — were not introduced to the crowd. They had family members on the field, so that wasn’t the problem. Smith said it was a communication breakdown."

I know it sounds crazy, but I think it would be cool if we introduced them at the Egg Bowl.

Every senior deserves recognition, whether they were a playmaker or on the scout team, and I would be all for introducing them to the crowd.

but were no where to be found. Nutt went back to the tunnel after the second guy didn't show and threw his arms out as if to say WTF.
A couple of the parents left the field holding their arms out as well. Horrible lack of planning by somebody at OM.

so that people would understand what's going on. And maybe give a brief BS sportsmanship talk.

But you know what- it's not any different than being in the World Series and the other teams fans booing you. Those guys on the visiting team are still proud to be recognized.

But, if it's explained well, I don't think very many people would boo, and I think the majority would clap- I know I would clap for them.

I can't see the Rebel Adminis-nation buying into it.

We'd probably have to just introduce them on the Big Screen, with explanation, after our Seniors had been introduced.
Doubt that the Bears would allow their guys to walk out and take a bow, on our turf.

Still, I think we should do that, out of respect, sportsmanship, yada yada.
Classy-ness in a cow-college sort of way. That would be epic.

If they repeated next year, that might be a great addition to the tradition.

But why not introduce all seniors, instead of just those three, as well as ours? Might be a good gesture ... but it would take a lot of time. Or perhaps recognize them by name on the big board rather than the elaborate introduction we give our guys.<div>
</div><div>Or just do nothing for them as we always do.</div>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 20px; ">"That it was Senior Day, when all the seniors get introduced before the game and get to stand and be recognized with their parents and loved ones. At least three of the Mississippi seniors, for whatever reason, were no-shows for the ceremony. Their folks were there, lined up along the far hashmarks, and increasingly taking on the looks of game-show contestants who were trying for the luxury dinette suite and realizing that they'd picked the curtain with the lifetime supply of lye soap. On the big board at the end of the stadium you could see Houston Nutt begin to chuckle at the absurdity of it. It was perhaps the most poignant and sad moment I've ever seen on a football field, and I saw Joe Kapp play quarterback for the New England Patriots."</span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 20px; ">
