Count me in on the no seaon ticket and stop all bulldog club donations if we hire Dooley.

offense when he was the head coach at Boise. There's a reason Boise State's offense hasn't dropped off one iota with him as head coach and there's also a good reason Hawkins' offense at Colorado isn't what it once was at Boise. He doesn't have Petersen calling the plays. Plain and simple.

I agree with the Dooley comments, but you cannot argue the success of Peterson. Now, maybe it's Boise playing in that weak conference, but they are putting up the points. They beat the Fightin' Fedora's easily and beat a 9-3 Oregon squad. They've only lost 2 games in 3 years. That is pretty freakin' awesome.

After Kelly, Petersen, Patterson and MAYBE Bowden (in that order), who do you like better than Dooley? I know for a fact 8dog isnt suggesting we take Dooley over any of those guys, with Bowden being a toss-up. That just depends on what you think is best for our program right now, a gamble on a young coach or an uninspiring proven coach like Bowden.

Dooley is also the AD for La Tech, that is impressive - he is very cerebral, in fact I believe he was an attorney before getting into coaching. I believe there is a VERY good chance that getting Dooley now would be like skipping the mid-major step (i.e., Urban from BG to Utah) and snagging a great young coach before he really catches fire.

It is a risk, for sure, but aGAIN, after those 3-4 prime candidates, I also like Dooley.

Edited to add: I would also put Riley above Dooley, obviously.

since Hawkins took over. Nothing against Peterson, because he is bringing in players just as good as Hawkins did. But CU is getting better.

I didn't say he excites me, but in typical Costanza reading comprehension fashion, that's what you got out of it.

I'll type slower this time for you. I, like you, prefer the Petersens and Pattersons of the world too. Proven winners. But if we strike out on those guys, we could do a heckuva lot worse than Dooley in my opinion. (See Fulmer, Phillip or Johnson, Ellis.) And if that's the way this thing plays out - that we go after some of the bigger fish in the pond and don't get them - I'll be as satisfied with Dooley as I would be with some of the other names that people are throwing about...like Hudspeth, Hatcher, Bowden, Venables, etc.

I am starting to think you are a closet Rebel.

Hawkins won using what Dirk Koetter built. Dirk was fired at ASU and Hawkins hasn't done much of anything Colorado.

It could be that BSU is just a great place to coach, but I think Petersen is the real deal. No matter what you inherit, going 34-2 is no small feat.

Plus Kellen Moore shows exactly what Petersen is capable of. They went 12-0 and beat Oregon this year with a RS Freshman (who put up some great numbers).

Of all the names being thrown around, Petersen is the only one that scares me at all (don't get me wrong... the idea of State running his offense makes me want to **** my pants in fear). I would love for you guys to hire Dooley or Fulmer.
