From her speech in Hawaii:

“I think of the U.S. as a place that welcomes people from abroad who want to work and who are yearning to be free,” Ginsburg replied. “It’s disheartening to see that there are some people who don’t agree with that view who think our borders should be closed. But it’s not the first time in U.S. history that has happened.”

I don't know of a single person that wants to eliminate legal immigration so I assume her closed borders comment deals with illegal immigration. I know many people that want to control who comes into the country but that in no way implies "closed borders".

Apparently Ginsberg is in favor of open borders. No surprise.

More spin and half truths. In her twisted, liberal mind any effort to throttle illegal entry and improve public safety is paramount to closed borders. Intentionally misleading folks. Sad that we have such dishonest folks in such positions of responsibility.

I'm confused, did she say this or not?

“It’s disheartening to see that there are some people who don’t agree with that view who think our borders should be closed.

What is she talking about? Legal immigration? No one is proposing "closing' our borders to legal immigrants. So, what she is referring to?

Ahem, Ruthy, our borders have been closed since September 17, 1787. Article I, section 8, clause 4 of the Constitution. You have to come in legally to be naturalized.
