Serious question: what is everyone's fascination / disgust with Kaepernick? He is using his right to protest. I've never understood why people care so much and hate him when he has every right to do what other African American citizens have done in the past. Stand up for what they believe in. You don't have to believe the same.

He has the right to take a knee in protest just like owners have the right to not hire him as an employee.

To think that we're living in a time where a multi billion dollar corporation like Nike can be intimidated by a sour, little, hatemonger like Colin Kaepernick. But then this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. I mean if someone would have told you 30 years ago that one day that a bartender would be the face of a major political party in our country we would have laughed at such a ridiculous statement, but here we are. It's like we're living in the Twilight Zone.
It seems very sour of you to tell a man what he can and cannot say in the country I fight for to keep that right. I imagine you have that anti-American confederate flag flying in your front yard as well.

You all continue to keep falling for the marketing hype. Ignore it and it all goes away.

LOL - how'd that work out for the bakery that refused to make a gay wedding cake?

That's the problem...… you must agree with all leftists ideas or else have your life/business ruined and be labeled racist/bigot/Nazi/etc...

I mean, they tried to ruin an entire state for not allowing men to **** in a women's bathroom.

That’s complete ******** and you know it, chic fil a is anti-gay marriage and is thriving because they make good chicken. Nobody gives a **** about some stupid bakery - if they were the best bakery in the city they’d still be fine. The Dixie chicks lives were ruined by conservatives for being anti-bush, but I guarantee you if they were belting out hits they’d still be fine. Nike’s army of slave children make badass shoes - they will always be successful. At the end of the day this is America, where the best succeed, no one gives a **** about politics, we’re capitalism to the max. If the best heart surgeon in town was a liberal you wouldn’t go to him for surgery? The hell you wouldn’t. If you want to experience “lives being ruined” and being oppressed try moving to the Middle East and get back to me.

The funniest part of this is that for about 300 years, under British rule, slavery was allowed in the 13 colonies. The 13 United States Of America didn’t come into existence as we now know it until 1789 when the constitution was ratified. A relatively short 19 years later, in 1808, those same United States Of America ended the slave trade. And of course in 1861 began the bloodiest war in our history when Americans gave their lives to free existing slaves.

So, if he wanted to protest the 13 colonies, and the British monarchy, he would certainly have a solid claim. But from my perspective he could not possibly be further off base with his opinions about the 13 original states.

The baker that was sued won his case. If anything I’d bet the churchies now flock to his bakery more than ever

Why let facts get in the way of promoting a phony issue? I LOVE the NFL for not giving this guy a job. He wasn't that great of a QB and the drama he will bring with him is not worth having.

It's anecdotal, but two co-workers refuse to go there, and plenty of others gripe about it in our Airport in NY. Chic-Fil-A is thriving because they make delicious sandwiches, are possibly the best food chain to work for, and have great customer experience.

I think they'd be doing even better if not for the LGBTQ mess. I guess if your product is good enough, you can last. But if you're not at that upper echelon, say Smash Burger, you might find yourself in trouble.

As for his remark about being blanketed with "Racist!" and "Homophobe!" labels by the left, I kind of agree with that as well. Trump Jr said, in a tweet that Kamala might not be AA, "Wow! Is this true?"... since then, he's now just automatically a racist. How does that work? Seems like a fair question to me. Not everyone and everything can withstand the type of blanket onslaught we've seen in recent years.

We elected a reality show host with the literary skills of a toddler as president. It wouldn’t seem crazy to elect a bartender to Congress. The bar wasn’t set too high.

Ridiculous indeed.

:joy: @ everyone who talks about love and tolerance of those without the same opinion as someone, all while name calling and spewing hate against those who don't agree with you. Our country is full of hate filled hypocrites on both sides of the political party. Until we quit blaming everyone else and start to see our own faults it will get worse rather than better.

Actually I am not sure their lives were ruined but their careers were ruined because they ran their course just like a lot of music groups. Very few stand the test of time unless they are great....and they weren't.

Wait, so you think it's fine that they are actively trying to ruin that Bakery's business simply because they aren't the best (not that you know that anyway)? I know the dude who made that Pelosi video was pretty F'n good at it, yet they doxxed the **** out of him in an attempt to ruin his life. Hey guys, don't worry about the unhinged mob of people trying to ruin you for "wrong think"...…. as long as you are the very best at what you do and/or are a multi-billion dollar cooperation, you're GOLDEN!

You also have companies like YouTube, FB, Twitter, Google ruining people's livelihood by censoring their content an eliminating their ability to profit.

Did the Dixie Chicks get sued and have to spend almost all their money on lawyer fees and court fees? I must've missed that.

I'm not a loony toon.....I'll buy apparel, food, music, or get my heart operated on by anyone if I think it is good/will be good for me. However, to put your head in the sand and pretend there isn't a large population in this country who are willing to ruin lives if you "think wrong" is being ignorant. Which is fine. Hope you enjoy it.

The middle east isn't America, strawman. We should be free to express ourselves (especially politically) without fear of an unhinged mob trying to ruin you.

I'm a conservative social worker. You think I don't have to watch my back? I'd be ruined quicker than a cat could lick it's *** if I expressed my conservative views around certain people. And that, my fellow catpaw poster, is a problem.

Ruthless capitalists with focused marketing toward a demo with rapidly rising favorability toward socialism and communism that was also raised in the largest free enterprise system in the history of the world that very ironically began with those colonies breaking free of tyranny. If idiocy were art this would be a masterpiece.

When CFA was giving money to DOMA advocacy Biden, HRC, Obama and pretty much every mainstream D were also against gay marriage.

I woke up and looked at the list of things I should be worried or angry about today, but this wasn't anywhere on the list. I looked at it again right after lunch, and it's still not on the list.

Could you share your list? We have been getting so many good football recruits that I have been finding it difficult to be mad about anything. Maybe I can be mad about your things too?

People need better priorities in their lives...I am as left as they come, but when I am in the Albany, NY airport, damn straight I am purchasing a ton of CFA before I exit the secured area (this is the only spot for miles with a CFA).

Same goes with Nike. I would be pissed if UK ever went with Adidas or worse, New Balance.

I just don't understand why the Betsy Ross flag is offensive to anyone. I get that it's from a time when there was slavery, but does that mean that we can't have anything pre-1865 in this country? It's a little ridiculous.

I do see how the Confederate "Dixie" flag could be offensive, of course, but this whole thing seems like a huge leap and is just an example of trying to find something to get bent out of shape over.
It was a flag that represented a country during a time when they were slavers and advocated for the practice. Having an item from that time period that has no correlation to representing a pro slavery nation is quite a bit different from promoting a flag from that period on apparel today. Particularly when a large portion of the client base who would be purchasing that are the descendants of the very people enslaved. It's really not that hard to comprehend if you actually try thinking about.

So are you saying the 13 original states did not allow slavery and that America actually has no ties to slavery in its past?

... if someone would have told you in 1951 that 30 years later the actor monkeying around with a chimp would be the face of a major political party in our country, and go on to be arguably one of the best presidents of the 20th century, we would have laughed at such a ridiculous statement, but there we were. It's like we were living in the Twilight Zone.

There are too many responses to my post so I’m just going to say this because none of us actually give a **** and we’re all bored because it’s the off-season. If Kapernick was a badass QB as good as Tom Brady (who is a public Trump supporter BTW) he would have a job - it’s not because he was discriminated against because he “made a stand” or whatever stupid crap. The Dixie chicks suck and that’s why they didn’t make it not because of “the conservatives”. Chic fil A and Nike are the best in their fields, they will be successful. The bakery is clearly average and dumb, who the hell here has been to a bakery in the last year? Who even goes to bakeries? Young chicks in their 20s and moms wanting to post on Facebook. Do straight guys even bake? If you want to make some stupid stand and your audience is young people who are probably liberals and it costs you so be it, America doesn’t care. America rewards you if you’re good at what you do and you’re good at business, if you’re not then get lost. That’s capitalism baby. No one here is oppressed, stop being drama queens.

Welp, there goes presidents 1-15 and anything to do with them. Throw in the founding fathers for good measure.

Can you imagine the nightmare Kap and his like-minded folks must have when they have to pay for items with cash? Nothing worse than having a racist, pro slavery face staring at you while you buy your $150.00 pair of woke social justice Nikes.

I guess what I and others are saying is: this boycotting is mainly a tactic by the left. The New Yorker wrote what amounts to a hit piece on CFA last year, and just this weekend they vandalized CFA during the Pride parade. This is a company that doesn't discriminate, at all. They just donate money to groups that don't support LBGTQ.. or in other words.. they donate to groups that uphold their religion. They are donating to groups who don't think New York Businesses' need to create a 3rd bathroom while they can barely make rent payments as is.

It's one thing to individually not support a product, it's another thing to boycott, defame, and disrupt business.

Also, more anecdotal: GF's little sister is opening her own bakery and her **** is FIRE! .. ok, I'll leave you be.
