If we got EJ or Richards back adding a guy like this with the studs we have coming in , especially Jackson , are front court is set. Now if lost both EJ and Nick we would still need 1 more center.

I mean next year we just need him to provide what Hump provided his freshman year . I think he could do that easy. Block some shots , get some rebounds and put backs/dunks. Regardless of whether EJ or Nick come back we are going to most of the scoring at the 1-4 spots ,especially the SG and SF .

There has been some questions about his eligibility and ability to play college ball.

EDIT: Not physical ability to play college ball. He's plenty skilled and physically capable obviously. Just have heard he may go the professional overseas route because of eligibility concerns.

And yet, Will Wade and Sean Miller are still coaching.

I no longer care about "suspect" recruits as it pertains to eligibility. Get them, and figure it out later. If it's THAT bad, don't play him any games and he can just go to the draft.

Kentucky is missing out on a HUGE chunk of players over the last 5 years because of this. Which doesn't give us many options in recruiting.

Not a project. Dude is very skilled. Would be an impact player out of the gate.

He got paid to play overseas. My memory is a little hazy but something about Enes Kanter and the exact same situation.

He does have damn nice ball skills for a 7'2" seventeen-year-old. Not sure about the rest of his game.

He probably joins, isn't ready, struggles early, doesn't play much and then year 2, we're fighting a transfer or overseas options.

A guy with his skill and 7'2 size doesn't last long in college with a "KENTUCKY" across his jersey, but it's almost guaranteed his best years won't be spent playing at UK.

Well, frankly, this is the case with nearly all of our players nowadays. We no longer get to see the finished product, only the early stages of development.

I'll re-phrase.

None of his good years will be at UK. Like, he will be here one year, won't contribute, but have enough upside and natural attributes that he won't be around.

Gunther Behnke 2.0.

Only people of a certain vintage will remember him.

Still, part of the Axis powers though.

edit: my bD, he is Filipino, not Japanese.

If he will stay long enough for us to reap the rewards of our efforts then sign him up. If he will bail at the first sign of adversity or choose to go pro even if undrafted then no thanks.

I predict one year of watching him get rebounds ripped out of his hands and then he goes pro or transfers.
