The body language by the Texas players and coaches told the entire story. They've thrown in the towel.

Charlie Strong is a good coach. Just not a good fit for Texas.
If Charlie is gone (and after this game it looks almost certain), the next coach will have a much easier job than he did. UT has a freshman QB who looks like a keeper plus some young talent. Lots of freshman and sophomores playing for the Longhorns. The next coach will look like a genius. I feel sorry for Charlie Strong. You just don't get the benefit of the doubt at a place like Texas. But I will say changing out the assistant coaches and systems every year is not a good look for a head coach.

I like Charlie Strong, but it would seem his time at Texas is over. If Texas ever gets "that" coach, look out, they will be hard to deal with. just hope they don't!

Texas may land him but it's not guaranteed. There will be at least one if not 2 SEC schools in the mix.

I think Strong is a good coach, but really never stood a chance there IMO. Some of the good ol boys down there hated him from the start. This LSUfreek gif summed it up perfectly.
Good grief, win games.... what the hell do the 'good ol' boys have to do with what strong does with his team on the field??????

He hasn't had support from a lot of influential people since the day he was hired. It's hard to win when boosters and even people within your athletic department don't support you. He took over a soft program that was a mess and hasn't gotten any better. He just wasn't a fit there. BTW, there are rumors he has already been fired.

Support or not, you can't lose to Kansas in Year 3 at a program like Texas. Kansas has won like 2 conference games in the last 6 years.

Regardless, Charlie seems like a good guy and I hope he has success at his next position.

I don't think it's right to kick anything when it's down.

Except for Texas.
I don't care if Texas is laying in an alley begging for somebody to help.
If I happen to be walking by, I would go out of my way to kick them a couple two three.

Have it filmed; they need some quality content for the longhorn network.

Oh, I agree. You lose to KU and you shouldn't even be let on the plane home.

What's worse, Nebraska losing to Purdue, or Texas losing to Kansas?

How in the hell does either one happen at all?
Was wondering if anyone would make the comparison... I would say there are similarities. Nebraska, at the time, was still figuring out if they wanted to play for these coaches. Seems like Texas players are wondering the same thing. The big difference is for Nebraska it was the first year, Texas is year 3. For that reason alone, I say Texas was worse.

Your second question is spot on...

And the fact that this is the second win for Kansas in 2 seasons. The other win being against the powerhouse Rhode Island.

Purdue is bad. Kansas is hardly D1. This is a more embarrassing loss than Iowa to an FCS team.

Neither one should ever happen, but because of Texas's fertile recruiting territory you can make a case, albeit a weak one, that losing to Kansas is worse but then again we're splitting some really ugly small pubic hairs here.

I think he gets a 10 million dollar buyout, and he will get another job soon. Boo hoo
Maybe he will move somewhere to coach a JV team claiming that is what he really wanted to do anyway.
