Are you talking about recruiting him? I am confused? If you offer this guy an invited walk on spot he's probably with you. He's good and yeah he is all over the field for NA, but I want to see him play some real competition.

Name the last D1 talent to come out of New Albany........um....... Jay Kirkland 2001 maybe. Point being NA isn't putting D1 talent consistently, so maybe he's not just on the radar of any scouts or schools so much yet.

I know he has attended a couple of combine camps, and I'm sure he has one or two more left to attend at the end of the season. I want to see some hard evidence on him.

He's a GOOD/DECENT football player on a DECENT football team that has yet to play any tough challenge. The only close game they have had was Corinth and that was close just because they got cocky, after their week 1 praise.

They haven't plate competition? What about beating tueplo 28-14 at ole miss? And the 21-17 game to Lafayette in the spring game? New Albany is a good team. They have a player right now with a D1 offer to Cornell!

I'm guessing you are talking about Luke Foley who has an offer to Duke, Cornell, and Southern I think. He has potential, but still not SEC potential.

But we weren't talking about sec potential. What about Jeremy cannon? I think new Albany will win 4A state championship

He is worth that. He is a tad slow for SEC (4.5 range in 40). Strong as can be and Balis could do wonders with him. He did 500 lbs 10 times on the bench. Vincent Sanders saidhe was the best DB he has played against last year during the playoff game against Nox Co. Stanford is looking at him really hard as are a few other schools. His biggest problem is that he plays multiple sports and has to constantly re-work his body to get in shape for each sport. If he just played football, then yes he probably would be getting some SEC looks.

New Albany as a team is made up of a lot of good high school football players. They have played together forever and have 22 seniors. That is the biggest difference maker. NA and Lafayette meet early in the playoffs, I think, which is bad because those are the top two teams in North 4A.

I know there was a Jeremy Cannon a few years ago. He was fast as hell, but size was his disadvantage. I think he has a little brother though thats supposed to be a stud? Not sure if I am getting names confused

You have it right. Jeremy went to NECC and tore it up. He was MVP of the MCJCAC or whatever it is all-star game. His size just kept him from going anywhere. Think he is at Delta State or North Bama now, not sure. His brother, Tony, had D1 all over him. Size, speed, strength, and loved to hit, but fell into wrong crowd and is running the streets now. Sad story. Tons of people tried to save that kid.</p>

That is why. If he could get into the 4.4 or 4.3 range he would be getting looks. 4.5 with that size doesn't work on the next level much. I think the speed will come down though with proper training.

Edit: His one bonus is his lateral movement and ability to start and stop. Quick as a cat as far as that goes. Add break away speed and you have the full package.
