I saw that he was retiring, but haven't heard anything about him being forced out. He's old and not in the best of health.

Don't be so happy yet. He could end up directly telling Keenum what to do, instead of indirectly.

Dear Alumni and Friends,

It has been my privilege to serve as Chancellor for the past 14 years. During that time, our alumni and friends have joined with our faculty, staff, and students to transform the university into a vibrant, nationally-prominent public university.

Evidence of our work together is everywhere on our campuses. Your commitment to excellence for the university is a major reason that we have been successful in achieving the goals that we all established in 1995. Among those are the magnificent honors college, the Croft Institute, competitive athletic programs, amazing physical facilities, extraordinary scholarship support for our students, and the recruitment and retention of an outstanding faculty and staff. Our alumni, supporting our faculty, staff and students, have enabled the university to achieve the margin of excellence.

On June 30, I will leave the university with a deep sense of gratitude and respect for our alumni and friends, particularly after my hiring and unwaivering support of Ed Orgeron. The progress we have made over the past 14 years would not have been possible without your commitment to our beloved Ole Miss. I will cherish our friendships and look forward to continuing to be part of the Ole Miss family.

Warmest regards,

Robert C. Khayat
Chancellor

It was a joke. Though I'm sure some might believe it.

They'll probably find that PLOI when his office is cleaned out.

He got the endowment raised, he got the campus fixed up, he got the new alumni hotel built, he got his Phi Beta Kappa chapter, he got his presidential debate. He didn't want to leave with the football program in shambles. Now, he can retire with everyone happy.

Of course, this means Pete's days are now numbered. Bring on Eric Tillman.

I'm hearing that Jackie Sherrill reminded the ncaa of the ploi they sent us a decade ago and they are pissed off to the point of shutting down all athletic events at Ole Miss indefinitely. RK wants to get the hell out of there before the **** hits the fan. The webel nation is imploding!!!!!!!!
