That's definitely a concern and should be one for Tyler Russell. Dan may adapt his offense to suit his pure pocket passing skills, but if he does, Tyler will likely be splitting time at QB with a runner just like Chris Leak did when Tim Tebow came on board and even before Tebow with Portis, who is now the starting quarterback at Maryland.

The option play is too big a part of this offense for Dan Mullen to just completely junk it because it doesn't fit Tyler's game.

Another concern is that despite his reputation as a quarterback developer, Dan Mullen's quarterbacks have done jack spit at the NFL level. Tim Tebow is currently a great player, but he might be the least fundamentally sound passer in college football and has no chance of ever playing quarterback in the NFL without having his mechanics completely broken down. With Tyler Russell, we have a young guy that needs work on his release and his footwork.

Tyler may become a good college quarterback under Dan Mullen, but had we hired Al Borges like Coach Croom wanted, Tyler would have become a great college quarterback with NFL ability.
