I think it cycles through all the teams he may have considered. They did this with the RB that committed to NEB all day yesterday. It was Texas once, and something else another time. And today it's Nebraska...

That ESPN, the self-proclaimed WWL in sports, intentionally messes up the logo and mascot of Mississippi State and Ole Miss? Really? That's better than the Clarion Ledger is out to get MSU theories.

For those outside the state of Mississippi, it's insane to think they do this on purpose. Just like it's insane to think Ole Miss has the SEC and NCAA under their spell. They're our rival, I get that we think everything bad that happens to us is because of them, but they have no national clout. Seriously, Ole Miss? It's ridiculous.

but the fact that this happens so often is alarming. Obviously I don't know if they mess up other schools since I rarely pay attention to every detail when I am browsing ESPN's articles so it could be something that is more widespread than it appears from my maroon glasses perspective.

On multiple occasions I left the south and have told people that I went to Mississippi State. The response has often been, "Isn't that what Ole Miss is short for?"

and they are not routinely called the University of Mississippi....like Univ. of Colorado, Iowa etc. People outside of the State of Miss. (even many in SEC country) are not really sure if Ole Miss is the nickname for Univ. of Miss. or Miss. State. All you conspiracy theorists can keep believing that ESPN does it intentionally but honestly you just come off sounding like the whiny kid that is always complaining about how things are not fair for them but no one likes them enough to even give a crap.
