My favorite call by Keith.

I was at that game 40 yard line 7 rows up on the west side and no one sitting near us could figure out how Jackson got the ball. We just suddenly saw him running down the sideline on the east side of the field.

I had to watch the sports report after I got home from the game to see how that play ihappened.

I was in the student section and yes got some oranges into end zone right after Keith Jackson scored. The announcer Keith Jackson then admonished the orange tosses throughout the game. The one game when I truly lost my voice getting loud. A great memory. I thanked Keith the week after in class...which was also a great memory.

Know this for a fact ?

He was outspoken against Barry Switzer in the 80's, but more recently do you remember in 2003"? Keith Jackson said that Oklahoma will be "soiling the floor of the Rose Bowl", and that "OU's presence aggravates the hell of out us on the West Coast." David Boren issued a statement saying Jackson and Dorger (Rose Bowl CEO) "need to get over their provincialism and join the rest of the country".

Ironic wasn't it that his Alma were the ones that soiled themselves that year ? My most prized OU tee is/was from our '03 Rose win, second only to the ragged ones from the 2000 Natty year and season.

I cannot find anything where Keith Jackson made these comments. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places, but do you have link to verify these comments? I can't imagine a professional like Keith Jackson, despite his Pac 12 pedigree, would publicly say such a thing about OU or any university for that matter.

In print, here is the article mentioning Keith Jackson's "aggravates the hell out of us" comment and Boren's reply.

Regarding the "soil the floor of the Rose Bowl" comment, it was the talk of this board and local OKC sports-talk radio, and was recalled by many in this thread on the day the match-up was announced, including the highly-respected LASooner (who has produced SoonerVision stadium intro videos for OU) and has the greatest Sooners YouTube channel ever. See page 2-of-2 of this thread.

I don't hate Keith Jackson. I'll remember him as the best there ever was.
