And he will be added to the "Ring of Honor". He was a great bulldog. I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times. For those of you who don't know, he was our Center during the 1980 Bama game when we beat them 6-3 (they were ranked #1).

Should make for a nice halftime show.

This isn't being talked about enough...

with the game being as big. Really excited we are doing this, he was a great player and very well respected in the football world. Great family and another reason the Ring of Honor was a great addition.

Around 1988-1990 he was probably the best center in the NFL. How many players can say that? I'm really looking forward to seeing him added to the ring of honor.

Thanks for joining Mr. Cleveland. That's pretty cool.

Although, your arrival is not complete without a defense of Larry Templeton.

Do you prefer shad or blood bait this time of year? Ever tried cheese bait when the water is above 70 degrees?

I keep trying to convince DawgStudent that he is now officially famous. He continues to disagree with me.

Rick Cleveland using SPS to pub his writing?

It's like that time Maya Angelou advertised her poetry on 4chan.

Not his fault that the Clarion-Ledger is going down.

You've gotta do what you've gotta do.

If he advertised his blog on a USM site, he would get no more than ten hits max a day.

Oh, I'm not blaming him for anything.

Especially since he's with the MS Sports Hall of Fame and not actually trying to peddle his wares JShort style.

Just pointing out the disparity in decorum. The vast chasm of decorum between a Rick Cleveland piece and a typical SPS rant.

Kent Hull is one of my all-time favorites. My first football season at the CL was his first at State. Great player, better person. http://msfame.com/blog.html

As you say, Kent Hull was a genuine guy who made everyone seem like his best friend. Kay and her father are true Ole Miss fans but a part of their heart will always be with Kent in the Ring of Honor at MSU.

Welcome, Rick. When I picked up last Sunday's C-L in my driveway, I stopped and took a second to realize that I wouldn't be reading your analysis of the game and I reconciled myself to the fact that things change and people move on. Please stop by here after big games and leave your comments...I'm sure you and DS can work something out financially...like, maybe do it for free?

I know Kent's son, Drew.

I'm working this Saturday, and extremely disappointed I can't be there to help honor Kent. I don't know of anyone more deserving. I hate it's posthumously; I didn't know him personally, but I have seen the videos and you can tell he was just a great guy with an infectious personality. Sorely missed, as well.

That's funny, but if you know what LT inherited, you know he left State's overall program far better than he inherited and is still helping State and the SEC in numerous ways. I just wanted to let folks know about our website. In case you missed it, here's the one on the inimitable Jack Cristil yesterday: http://hofrw.blogspot.com/2012/09/a-cristil-clear-memory.html

I went up to Buffalo 4-5 times and spent some time with Kent. They loved him up there. One time after a Bill's game he wanted to go to a hockey game. We didn't have tickets, but he said there would be scalpers selling them outside the....stadium, rink, ice, ....whatever you call the building that houses a hockey match. When we got there he rolled down the window and called over a scalper. He asked how much for 4 tickets. The guy looked at him and said, "You're Kent Hull aren't you?". Kent said yes and the scalper said for you they're free. Kent tried to pay him, but he wouldn't take it.

Super, super guy.
