I asked why they are ********. I think it’s ridiculous that he’s refusing to allow a vote. If you don’t want to pass them, fine. They at least deserve to be voted on. I said the same thing when Harry Reid pulled it. Bills should be voted on and either passed or stopped per legislative rules in the Constitution. It’s wrong regardless of party and a disservice to the people they were elected to represent.

MM pushing judges through is serving the people who elected him. Him bringing bills to the floor with 6% republican approval probably isn’t what the people who elected him would want.

Maybe he could’ve held some votes Jan/early February, but the house threw something to the senate with 0 republican support and it had to be dealt with.

Just out of curiousity which of these are ******** bills (they all have Republican support in the house).

The Equality Act, which was introduced in March and passed in May, seeks to provide comprehensive anti-discrimination protections for LGBTQ Americans in employment, education, federal funding, housing, public accommodations and more.

The Paycheck Fairness Act was introduced in January and passed in March. It includes provisions that would prohibit employers from asking about prospective employees’ salaries, forbid retaliation against employees who compare wages and mandate employers show that pay discrepancies are based on legitimate factors.

The renewal of the Violence Against Women Act was introduced in March and passed in April. One Democrat voted against it, while 33 Republicans broke party lines to back it.

Congress had allowed the act, which provides funding and grants for several programs that tackle domestic abuse, to lapse in February when it was left out of a spending bill ending a partial government shutdown.

The reauthorization includes everything in the original act and includes an expansion of a prohibition against firearm purchases for spouses or formerly married partners convicted of abuse or under a restraining order to include dating partners who were never legally married. The National Rifle Association came out against the act because of the clause.

Not to mention the bill that has passed with Republican support to enhance election security. Those are just a few examples of the bills that Mitch refuses to allow a vote on. Which of those are ********? The Violence against women act? The paycheck fairness act? I really would like to know.

Goodness. The election security act did nothing to enhance election security, centralized more power in Washington, and the Dems shot down Republican attempts to actually amend the bill to enhance security. That “bipartisan” bill got 1 Republican vote. Why would McConnell waste his time when he’s busy dealing with Pelosi and schiffs impeachment?

I assume your “equality act” has something to do with creating more protected classes, which is a nonstarter.

The “paycheck fairness act” would be completely unworkable in practicality. If you want to know if you’re paid market rate, look for a new job. If you can’t get a new job paying more, then you’re paid what you’re worth.

I don’t know what’s all in the women’s bill, but I see you say they tried to expand gun control, which is a nonstarter and probably not constitutional depending how drafted.

The House passing a dead on arrival bill and slapping a feel good name on it doesn’t mean McConnell should bring it to a vote when he knows it will be shot down and democrats will try to do what you just did and cite feel good names rather than all the land mines they have hidden in the bill, and when he had to spend his time dealing with a completely partisan impeachment charade.

Mtich is more than Kentucky's senator. He is The Senator. He has the power and the rest of America depends on him. There is nothing good that will come out of a House sponsored Democrat bill. Not a single one is worth considering.

Mitch needs to focus solely on the Judicial and make sure every vacant judgeship is filled by a conservative judge. Once he has accomplished this he can start working on tax relief for the middle class. There are lots of things Mitch can do before the House goes back to the GOP in the fall. After November we can move forward.

Well down here, 850 miles from the Commonwealth of Kentucky guess who is running ads on our TV. Bloomberg quits and now we have your girl, Miss Amy. Miss Amy needs money to fight that evil Mitch McConnell. Says so in her ad. Just send her money and she will fight the evil one.

Can you do us a favor and get her out of here. I suppose Bloomberg is paying for the ad.

I don't give a damn about which party, none of them needs to be in office 34 years!
All of their heads get so fat they no longer serve the people who elected them.

Mitch and Nancy both need to retire.

I’ll take that trade off. But only if you kick in Schumer, Sanders & Warren. Do we have a deal?

I agree with you though. We definitely need term limits.

Ad Trump and it's a deal
Yeah, because a POTUS who has only been in politics for a grand total of less than 4 years, who already has term limits on his job and who isn’t even done serving his first term yet is relative to this discussion about senators who are career politicians with 30+ years of “service” in a job that has zero term limits.

You got me, though...because Orange Man Bad!!! Good one!!!

Then why not have a one-party government?

Headed by Trump...or Putin.

Can Mad Dog McGrath do just one commercial where she does not remind us that she was a fighter pilot. Never seen anyone, outside of Al Buddy who scored 4 TD’s for Polk High, talk so much about their past so much. Like her being a fighter pilot and always on TV saying “Hi, I’m Amy McGrath - vote for me or I will shoot a sidewinder missile at your truck and blow it up.” My goodness - do something lately that is relevant.

That no longer bears weight w/ those that are tired of her shtick. She's a fraud and nothing more than a token at this point for the DNC to toss a few bucks towards. Anyone with an ounce of sense knows she is going to get trounced in a laughable manner.
We'll see.

I won't give MJ any of my money, but let us know what you think.

I don't mind Matt, I think he has good intentions generally. I think at the very least it should be an interesting read about the state. As a Trump supporter I finds his takes frustrating but I just look past it. Oddly I find the two to be similar, just on different party lines.
