Shouldn't give up on Zoom after two exhibition games. But he needs to be better than he's shown so far. Wilkins definitely looks like the preferred PG1 early on though. (Hopefully he'll work on the shot selection and be a little less of a chucker)

It sucks that we lost tonight.
Probably ought to cancel the season and forfeit the games.
I saw some good and bad things tonight. I won’t read too big into any of it. I have been the most impressed by Mason Williams and N’Diaye and the most underwhelmed by Zoom and Wilkins. I’m not anointing or discarding anyone during exhibition season though.
Rebounding continues to be a problem for Pope teams. Gave up too many offensive boards, but hopefully with our length this can be fixed.
I think this team could be really good. It all hinges on the backcourt.

Just caught a charge. Wasn't aware I had to be in Lexington to burn couches. At least its just a misdemeanor
Last year's team definitely had a personality problem. They didn't get along. I'd say Garrison and Mo were the two biggest problems, but I don't think Aberdeen and Oweh helped things any. Reading between the lines, there was almost definitely a locker room fight early in the season.
We aren't a UK type team we grew up watching but its our team. We won tonight like we should have but we dont score easy on anyone. Maybe college basketball is down
Feels like it could be a down year for college basketball. But it's just getting started as well. We'll see.
I was close the floor last night. MilMom was working. I did not see fatigue. He seems to have good stamina. I think he and Moreno are going to play well off each other.
They were reading him your first half posts about him on the bench. Very inspirational.
Mason played well off the ball. They did not force him to run the show. He looked frustrated at times in the first half, either questioning himself or a teammate, it was hard to tell. He once ran the baseline of offense and the look on his face was as if he was unsure what UK was doing. I only raise this to say he is a frosh and really is still just learning things.
Nevertheless, he was working and really made sure not to try to do so much. Took was the defense was giving and again demonstrated he has a wonderful catch and shoot from the perimeter. On the floor when UK had good runs in both the first and second half, and on the floor at crunch time.
Wilkins was really working hard on defense, taking the challenge, working over screens and trying to stay in the shorts of his man. You can see that intense defense is still new to him. But he was not backing down, despite still having a young wiry frame.
Zoom was pushed out by the defense and was struggling to drive and then frequently took the ball into double teams, struggling with off ball help and hands. It’s just two games but he was often a liability last night.
