Kentucky Texas Tech Game Thread

[HolySmokes]

Its the same thing. Why didn't Tech have a player to come in and replace Toppin? I saw more crying for Toppin tonight on RR than I saw all of last season for our injuries

Seems they did have a player. They gave us all we wanted in Rupp Arena.

Noah is an actually going to be needed. What the heck is wrong with him?

Hamstring

[chattanooga_wildcat]

Clapping cheeks with pops isnt incest. Thats team work. Now if he was clapping mom's cheeks that's different

See? This guy gets it.

And now I actually like you.

[Fawrules]

Shouldn't give up on Zoom after two exhibition games. But he needs to be better than he's shown so far. Wilkins definitely looks like the preferred PG1 early on though. (Hopefully he'll work on the shot selection and be a little less of a chucker)

[FLBBNFAN]

Feel like Zoom should be on the football team

Yeah at free safety hitting people.

Double digit loss

Get it?

Get it?

You say something?

[BookofMormon]

I want to like Pope, he’s a good coach, but he’s gotta do better with recruiting and making UK basketball exciting/enticing for fans. I got more hyped for the Billy G years. Obviously Pope is better than him, but idk he’s just lame and off putting.

[chattanooga_wildcat]

You say something?

Yeah, I just did. I said you're a clown son.

It sucks that we lost tonight.

Probably ought to cancel the season and forfeit the games.

I saw some good and bad things tonight. I won’t read too big into any of it. I have been the most impressed by Mason Williams and N’Diaye and the most underwhelmed by Zoom and Wilkins. I’m not anointing or discarding anyone during exhibition season though.

Rebounding continues to be a problem for Pope teams. Gave up too many offensive boards, but hopefully with our length this can be fixed.

I think this team could be really good. It all hinges on the backcourt.

and i've never been surprised either, jackass

Did you reply to yourself, weirdo?

[Anon722800]

No, but your mom knows how to count down to pound town anytime me and my dad come rolling through town. spread 'em, baby!

You're such a dork.

[HolySmokes]

Just caught a charge. Wasn't aware I had to be in Lexington to burn couches. At least its just a misdemeanor

I'd have love to seen what could've been last year. I don't think it was a title team, but before whatever the hell happened happened we had a chance at a deep run. Injuries didn't help either.

I want to see a Pope Season without major injuries. If we can do that and he's still throwing out God-awful lineups then I'll have my last question answered.

Last year's team definitely had a personality problem. They didn't get along. I'd say Garrison and Mo were the two biggest problems, but I don't think Aberdeen and Oweh helped things any. Reading between the lines, there was almost definitely a locker room fight early in the season.

We aren't a UK type team we grew up watching but its our team. We won tonight like we should have but we dont score easy on anyone. Maybe college basketball is down

Feels like it could be a down year for college basketball. But it's just getting started as well. We'll see.

It appears to me that Mom lacks stamina, especially if he busts his butt on the defensive end.

I was close the floor last night. MilMom was working. I did not see fatigue. He seems to have good stamina. I think he and Moreno are going to play well off each other.

[Beatle Bum]

Wilkins has played good D and has had a nice second half. He really does have a next play mentality

They were reading him your first half posts about him on the bench. Very inspirational.

[Beatle Bum]

Mason played well off the ball. They did not force him to run the show. He looked frustrated at times in the first half, either questioning himself or a teammate, it was hard to tell. He once ran the baseline of offense and the look on his face was as if he was unsure what UK was doing. I only raise this to say he is a frosh and really is still just learning things.

Nevertheless, he was working and really made sure not to try to do so much. Took was the defense was giving and again demonstrated he has a wonderful catch and shoot from the perimeter. On the floor when UK had good runs in both the first and second half, and on the floor at crunch time.

Wilkins was really working hard on defense, taking the challenge, working over screens and trying to stay in the shorts of his man. You can see that intense defense is still new to him. But he was not backing down, despite still having a young wiry frame.

Zoom was pushed out by the defense and was struggling to drive and then frequently took the ball into double teams, struggling with off ball help and hands. It’s just two games but he was often a liability last night.

[Cleatortoises]

You cant keep Mo Williams off the floor

He'd better stay off the floor. Coaches are not eligible to play.

My talk to sex got the best of me again

[meteordealer]

6 rebounds for Moreno, sheesh

He has weak hands, and zero hops.
