Local tv here is reporting a student equipment manager has been fired for deflating USC footballs during the Oregon game to make them easier to throw and catch. I think I saw something on Yahoo but didn't read it. They reported this on KTLA this morning and people are calling for his head with this on top of their mediosre season.

I'm not quite sure why I despise that guy so much

Maybe it's because he's been completely unqualified for every job that he's received to date

Maybe it's because he's so clueless that even his well-respected dad can't keep him out of trouble

Maybe it's because I feel like he'd sell his own children to get ahead in life

Or maybe it's because he reminds me of that little douchebag of a prick that we all knew in junior high that always got the smoking hot blonde because of his fame, money, and general douchiness.

Who knows? All I know is that ol' Lane can join Gary Ervin in riding a bus straight off a cliff.

Probably because he's an arrogant little twerp for no reason ... and looks it. Your 4th point sorta summed that up.

And he showed his lack of character by the way he left Tennessee. But they're better in the long run without him.

Do they allow the footballs to be inflated differently when playing in doors? I know for a fact JWS had it done during a Tulane game in the Super Dome.

What's the reasoning behind that?

I think you have about a pound of pressure to work with, so it's possible. Curious as to why indoors vs outdoors makes any difference.

Seems that it would depend on the weather for outside, both temperature and insolation. Lower temperature lowers the pressure, so you have to add air. Incoming sunlight would tend to raise the pressure, therefore requiring less air. Just like you have to add air to your tires in the winter to maintain a given pressure.

Indoors, the conditions should be about the same year-round.

I have no idea if the NCAA takes all those things into account.
