The announcement post by Cater sealed it for me that hes going. Kiffin might be a troll (see: childish *** hole), but I don't think there's any way that the UM administration is interested in playing that sort of game. Theyd want to announce he's been extended as soon as possible.

I'm completely on the fence about it, 50/50. Don't know which way to lean. But, it just seems like to keep the team 100% focused on the EB, Kiffin would've had to tell them he was staying if he was. If that's the case someone on the team would've said something to someone by now. People in the know can't wait to tell their secrets to someone. It also seems stupid to troll your own fanbase. He's pissed off a lot of OM fans and, don't know if it's true, but evidently a lot of players are pissed too. The only reasoning I have behind the half of me that believes he's trolling is that he's a douchebag amongst a bunch of douchebags and that's just what douchebags do.

HE IS GONE unless LSU & Florida maybe even Even if he does not leave now, they could have to endure this chaos again in January when the NFL teams get serious about their carousel.

EXACTLY. This many big programs looking for a coach at the same time will likely not happen again for a very long time.
I don't know about that. We had USC, ND, Oklahoma and LSU looking for coaches at the end of '20. Other than UGA, Ohio State, ND and Oregon, what Blue Blood has a coach that's untouchable?

I don’t think Ole Miss knows what he’s going to do. If he was staying they would damn sure come out and say it. They released that statement to get everyone to chill until after the EB so as not to cause distractions and locker room problems before the game. I think he is going to LSU.

I am 50/50. I can see it both ways, one think of all the free publicity Ole Miss is getting through this. If he stays, he can tell all the recruits everyone wanted me and my staff, but we chose to stay because we can win here. The other side is $ talks, and it is hard to pass on the numbers they are throwing around from LSU, I think last I saw was 98 million over 7 years. 14 mil a year would be hard to pass on unless it is matched.

Kiffin is so weird and out there that it seems plausible he’s doing this for show and Ole Miss always likes to win the press conference.

If he is leaving…. I could definitely see him running up the score on Friday as a parting gift to the bow ties

Not even the smallest leak that LSU is even glancing at someone else. He's gone. Or... He may stay and LSU managed to back-channel things so well that nobody knows they've talked to other candidates. Or... He may stay and LSU will be up a creek without a paddle.

I'm hoping it's the first one.

I don’t think that does seem plausible though. This is not flipping some kid on signing day. I think the whole trolling thing is just something paranoid guys on message boards are saying. For anyone looking at this rationally, all signs indicate he’s leaving.

Yeah. This is hurting their playoff rankings. And a win over us may not do much to help them there. Plus, they’re p*sing off a lot of their own fans if this is some kind of a game. He is gone & the deal is done. Just waiting till Saturday to announce it.

My only reservation in the belief that he goes is that maybe, just maybe, their administration really is that shallow. If so, I don’t see how their fans wouldn't be pissed. Of course, they're also shallow limp-wristed a-holes too so they'll just gaslight themselves into accepting the emotional trauma as the price of winning the press conference.

Did you see the video from Desmond Howard a week or so ago? He says to not be shocked if there is a mutual parting of ways at Texas
That’s the only commentary I’ve seen regarding UT, and it may be false but interesting nonetheless
Could LK throw everyone a curve ball and end up in Austin?

Announces to his players in the locker room that he is staying and they carry him on their shoulders as they tun out onto the field.

There is a Amtrak route heading thru Batesville, down to Baton Rouge, he will likely be on it before long.
He would be an idiot to leave before they have lost out.

After a good talk with a Reb buddy, I am moving to undecided. He thinks he will likely stay.

While I have no idea what has been discussed between him and LSU/Florida, if he strung one or both of the latter along then he's done serious harm to his hire ability with other big name schools. They don't play that.

He and Carter met. Kiffin broke the news to him last week - hence the statement. Carter begged him to stay and try to hold everything together through the Battle for the Golden Egg (hattip @CharlieWinfield) and Lane agreed because of all the support (i.e., blowjobs) they have given him over the past few years. Sexton was okay with this plan because it will present a better PR image for LK that he "stayed loyal" and "coached these kids" through their rivalry game instead of abandoning them immediately.

The statement said they will address it after the game on Saturday, but it didn't say when he was leaving. Lane agreed to talk some more about coaching them as a lame duck through the first playoff game if they don't feel comfortable with his replacement. But he made no guarantees - only that he would think about it. He wants to make sure they win Friday so he can coach a home game they have a chance to win. If they lose and will go on the road for the playoffs, look for an interim coach to take the helm (and the loss).
