If I'm him, I'm looking up the post game presser after Saban lost to that directional LA school and taking some notes just in case...
He also lost to State his first year. Surprising they didn't fire him on the spot.

I think Kiffin would jump at the chance if he got it, and Alabama might be in a hurry before their brand vanishes. They feel very entitled fans ads are depressed about that loss - some of the ones I know didn't even watch all the game. Love it.

I know it's unpopular to say on the board, but Kiffin has become a very good college coach and he could be a championship winner. He's more of a CEO than a hands-on guy, but he understands the modern college game because he was raised in an NFL environment. He's navigated NIL as good as any other college program since its inception. The results are there.

He's happy to leave defense to someone else, and he gets far too into his quarterback projects. But, if he had real money to spend, he'd get there.

As for where he could actually win a NC, certainly Bama would be easier. He would leave UM in a heartbeat for the opportunity.

Don't get me wrong. I'd swap places with them, but they've benefitted from some great schedules and really good timing.

Saban was the brand at Alabama. The history doesn’t mean crap if you’re not winning. Just ask Notre Dame, Nebraska, USC, and Miami. The history only matters if it’s recent. All those kids Saban got in his first couple classes were in diapers when Gene Stallings won their last natty. Alabama’s cachet grew because of Saban. They’d be stupid not to go after Lane and he’d be stupid not to take it.

Kiffin isn’t going anywhere but to the Bank and Boca in the offseason.
He’s got it made at Oxford.

A total of 5 wins in the last four seasons when both teams were ranked. The same number MSU has had since the SEC went to split divisions in 1992.

Bama's problem is girly men playing for them. Most talented softest team I've ever seen.

There's a Mississippi kid playing for Bama I believe in free safety...looked like he was jogging on a lot of plays this weekend. He was an exceptional High School athlete but whoever his position coach is certainly doesn't have his attention.

Heard a lot of Bama players were loafing Saturday. That’s unacceptable.

I’m not sure what both teams being ranked has to do with anything.

But I know we have more than 5 wins against teams that ended up ranked in the last 15 years

the point is their schedule has been weak as 17
That’s a fact

Would I swap places? Yes

SCHEDULE HAS BEEN WEAK AS 17!!

Listening to Finebaum, sounds like Kiffin was not on the Bama short list, last go.
And, Saban did fire him, ...so.
Supposedly Saban was very influential on his replacement so Kiffin was a no go. But if I’m Bama….Kiffin would be my man this time around.

Every time I look at the Kiffen, I remember the Road Runner cartoons where the coyote would have a handful of dynamite or a keg of TNT that was about to go off.

According to "sources," Alabama will never hire Kiffin as HC. It may have something to do with his time there as OC.

Even if you don't buy that, he would have to choose to leave Ole Miss for Alabama. He is a better fit at Ole Miss. Alabama wouldn't let him be the brand. Alabama Football will always be the brand. Ole Miss doesn't have any historic success to speak of, so they let Kiffin be the brand.

It's working now for Ole Miss, but one day, he will not be their coach, and they'll be starting over, looking for an identity.
Yup, they all goo-goo / ga-ga over Lanes got a story coming out. Got this from an om fan yesterday. They about to pee & mess all over themselves. Shouldn’t that be stories because Lane’s got plenty? Saben ain’t even got a story out yet and he’s the winningest coach in football and Kiffin’s got a story? Must be true they never lost a game in the “Can’t see the forest for the trees” grove, they have a walk of “glampions”, and they never miss an opportunity to win a press conference.

Not sure bama would pay out DaBoer this season but certainly don’t believe they would let Kiff be the brand there, he’s as big as he wants to be at om for as long as he wants to be. IMG_5198.jpeg

  1. I don't think Alabama is paying $70 MM to get rid of DeBoer.
  2. Whenever that job comes open, I don't think they're hiring Kiffin.
The ninja is already raising money. As an MSU fan that observes football fans in Alabama, every Tom, Dick, and Harry wants DeBoer out and they'll give there 25.75 to the fund to get rid of him. Not alot of happy football fans in the state of Alabama, right now.

Just imagine if every tom, dick and harry that was an msu fan gave $10/month or more!!

I believe bama can come up with the money. I don’t know if they’ll spend $70M on a buyout as opposed to putting a fraction of that into upgrading their roster.

Bama is not offering their head coaching job to Lane Kiffin, unless he wins a natty with Ole Miss.... maybe.

But if they ever did, he wouldn't take it. He's not doing battle or playing footsies with the Bama Mafia (the booster mafia - not the alphabet mafia)

I get it; you guys are desperately hoping Kiffin leaves Oxford and their program falls into some sort of disarray.

He's not.

If you want to beat the man, you got to spend money like the man.

This is the correct take on the whole Bama issue. If they want to improve and can raise a good portion of that money, they should invest it in the general manager ("athletic director"), free-agent scouting and NIL. DeBoer is a decent coach who can probably achieve there.

If their players are actually soft, then that would be worked out by improving the free agent scouting process within the portal. College football is now a pro sport; programs have to develop their evaluation and free agent signing to succeed.
