I’m pretty sure we’re not hearing the whole story. UVACAVS1…you should know from being in the Essex system in the past, that Essex has NEVER backed down from any team. We don’t fear competition in Essex. You can tell that by them going out booking schools in 3, 4, and 5A when they can work out a schedule with them. Think about it…..it would be a plus for Essex to play KW
1.)We need to play strong teams like KW to get better. Playing weak teams don’t prepare you.
2.) No matter the outcome, power points would have been good. So why throw that away.
3.) It’s a BIG rival game.
4.) Packed house means $$$$$$$$$. We all know schools need that type of gate.
Why would anyone think Essex would back away from that?
Maybe when KW reached out to see about playing the game next week, Essex didn’t respond back fast enough because of dealing with covid, so KW went on and booked Northumberland. That don’t sound so far out there as saying Essex backed out.
