Classic trap game for the Mountaineers. A young Mountaineer team coming off a big county win playing on the road to another county rival who is licking their wounds. Burns is much better than their first game score. I think KM wins but it could be tougher than expected.

The Crest game was tough before the kickoff. Most Burns fans knew it would be a tough matchup. Burns has a lot of new faces in very important positions. We also had 3 starters out not including the other issues with a few. Our biggest issue right now is up front. We have to give these guys time to get things figured out and most importantly have all of our players together on the field. KM is going to present a big problem for us as well. They have a great defense and more depth than we do. As a fan, I just want to see progress week to week.
I am looking forward to seeing how our guys respond coming off a big win. Do not expect the KM jamboree team especially on defense, we look totally different. I am sure Burns will play with a lot of pride Friday. County matchups are usually physical games so I expect that at the least.
We all knew this was gonna be a tough year for the Dawgs. Hopefully the boys keep working hard, keep giving it their all, and get better every week. Go Bulldogs!!!!

The Burns sophomore and freshmen classes is really strong. I believe this group contends for a state title in 4A next season. The Bulldog future is bright but not tonight though. KM with the suplex off the top rope this evening lol
Going to try and make it to this game but might head to Shelby/Crest. Reading what the Burns posters put, they believe this team has a chance to compete at the end of the year. KM didn’t look the greatest on offense last week but their defense was for real. If they put up 14 they can win tonight. Burns has to play stout defense to have a chance.
The 8th grade class is coming too. So much talent in that group too. I’ve been saying the future is bright. lol

In a wild turn of events. Both teams fumble the ball to each other.

We run a sneak to the 5 and then throw a pick 6 to a KM DB that was in the end zone for a 0 yard pick 6.

I will say this, Burns looks much different this week. We have to clean it up and keep getting better.
I'm here to eat a little crow & humble pie. We'll see what happens in the 2nd half but we do look much better than last week.
Two plays changed this game. We gave up a TD on 4th and 10 the first drive then that pick 6 at the end of the half. Get that stop and don't throw that pick and it very well could be tied.

Congrats to KM. Heck of an effort from Burns. Take away that pick 6 at the end of the 1st half and it's be a different game

KM fumbled with 3 min left. Burns recovered and went down the field. Came up just short on 4th down. The pick before half killed us. Could have pulled off the upset.

Great game between two county rivals. I am proud of the Dogs for the effort. Dang if we could have gotten that tipped ball..we didnt lose just ran outta time .... lol....congrats to km on the win.
Good WIN but kinda LUCKY I thought the DOGS out PLAYED the YOUNG MOUNTIES far a lot of the GAME. GOOD luck to the DOGS for the REST of the SEASON.

Got to watch this game on YouTube this morning and what a turnaround from Burns. Hats off to the kids and coaching staff. Every player was playing hard nose football and played hard until the end. Offense moved the ball and the defense flew around and played well. KM had a good game on the ground but from what I hear that RB is pretty dang good. RB for Burns looked like he refused to lose and put the team on his back. Playing both ways and had to take a few plays off but what a game he had. Kid can fly and plays hard as hell. If Burns can play with that intensity the rest of the season, I’m not sure anyone will want to play them come playoff time.
Exactly what I’ve been saying. You may not know what high school kids will do each night but I do know who their coach is. I knew it would take a few games but that effort Friday told me all I needed to know about this teams potential. Not a team I would want come playoff time if this trend continues.
