Its not LT or Croom's fault that so and so went to Athens instead of Starkville. We don't have that much to offer. Mullen will find that out soon. Hopefully, he is smart enough to realize that we are Mississippi State. We compete in the SEC. And its not going to change in the near term. Players have to develop into a system and execution is more important than talent. Look at Houston, Wake Forest, Kentucky. I bet if you look back at recruiting classes, Croom's recruiting classes were similarly ranked. We can't expect our players to walk right into this new system and start competing on the road in the SEC. Let me be perfectly clear, I do not think that Croom was a good coach. My point was, our talent level is not unusually low for Starkville. I think it far exceeds the last of the Sherrill years (Oregon 28 - MSU 0 5:12 1Q) And to blame the Auburn loss on Croom or LT is almost to the point of paranoia. Alot of yall (and radio people) can't say anything other than Croom or LT sucks and I can't believe they did this and that and blah, blah, blah. Get over it, they are gone, move on to something constructive (of course this is a message board so there really isn't ever anything constructive but you get my point). And by the way, I am no where close to being a new person on this board. So suck it.
I almost considered stopping here but I continued to read. Do you not realize that Croom has been competing for recruits with UAB, Memphis and Arkansas St. over the past 5 years?? LT has been our ONLY AD since the beginning of time and there are a few...scratch that...a ton of us on here that do not want to continue to do things the way that you and all the other dinasaurs want to continue to do it. It's a new day and age. ****...we have the internet!! I bet you were bitching at the advent of the television...hell, I don't know what's wrong with listenin to it on the 'ol radio... Wake up!!! It DOES NOT have to be like it has been. And as far as everybody blaming LT...he DID NOT hire the only coach who has won an SEC west championship on football, Zacharias did. He brought Polk back and gave us Croom. Hell...he voted against cowbells!! And our most successful Coach..Stansbury, he was constantly at odds with. What is your plan?? Continue the status quo?? Not me. I think we can do better. And I believe the new coaches think we can do better. And I think people who think like you need to stay far, far away from Mississippi State University.
