Put to rest the lack of talent and lack of depth arguments last night....as you clearly saw, it's all about how you use your talent and depth

...Osby played great against Auburn.

Kodi's post move was awesome, and reinforced the point that he needs to be down low.

If anything, I hope this game was a turning point for Kodi -- he and Stans both need to embrace the fact that Kodi can be a versatile inside/outside guy and can come up big when certain situations call on him to do either. Last night, we certainly needed his all-around game. His defensive focus still has a long ways to go.

They proved we're deep? Who came in when Jarvis sat down? Phil? Riley?

I'm confused about all this depth we have.

He did alot of things that won't show up in stats...It's also obvious how much better we are defensively without Ravern on the floor

...crucial turnovers. Offensive fouls. Couldn't score. Couldn't defend. He sucked. Your boy Kodi was great. Let it go. We all know that those two players have tons of raw talent and untapped potential. Osby sure didn't show it last night.

Defense or not, Osby got his 5 point average in 38 minutes. He's been averaging 13 minutes. If Ravern plays and gets his average, we win the game.

If ravern would have played we would have still lost. He would have shot about 10 more threes to make our total over 40 for the game. Even if he got his average Kentucky would have scored about 20 more points because he walks to the defensive end and then throws a fit like a little kid if the game isnt going his way. Im glad he didnt play.

Ravern as shot 10 threes in exactly two games this season. He's done it in zeroSECgames.

This "we're better off without Ravern"argument is some of the dumbest **** I've ever read on this board.

I looked at the floor last night and saw a lineup of Benock,Turner,Bost, Stewart, and Augustus versus 5 guys soon to be in the NBA. You call that quality depth? We are woefully thin on the inside. It was amazing we were even in the game after Jarvis fouled out.

And we led by 7 with 3 mins left...Osby played fairly well...not all players on the floor have to be scorers...If Ravern had played, Kentucky would have scored at least 10 more points

and wasn't that one shot a put-back from his own missed/blocked shot? I thought he did play pretty good though. He got to the line a couple of times. But his inside game is extremely weak.</p>

And see if they have a lead with 3 mins left...or Fla's post player and the white boy that can shoot it...we don't have Kentucky talent- but we do have top 25 talent

....and when he is down low, he can get to the line. He does not need to be standing around the 3 point line, as we've all said.

He plays good defense, rebounds and hustles. He needs to work on his offensive game without the ball and to try to post up more instead of taking it off the dribble. Too bad we haven't worked with him enough on the offensive end of the floor, but we do have Stans as our coach.

...even if we give up 10 more, as some of you have insinuated. I really don't think Osby's defense was much better.

On top of that, Ravern was coming off of 18 against Auburn, and there was a good chance that he would continue to shoot it well.

If I had told you prior to last night that we would have a lead with 3 minutes left and be playing without our leading score (Ravern) and our leading rebounder and shot blocker would you have believed it?Hell I still can't. It is easy to say that kind of stuff in hind sight.

MSU has a chance to be pretty good next year as well.

Phil Turner
Ravern Johnson
Dee Bost
Kodi
Osby

Thats a pretty decent starting 5. Not sure about depth, but that shouldn't be any different that this year.

...go back and watch it. 5 points in 38 minutes. Players who got more rebounds than Osby - Varnado, Augustus, Bost, Stewart, and Benock.

I like Osby. He was great Saturday night. He was very poor last night. Ravern being out was huge.

Stewart is our best perimeter defender without a doubt and JV masks everyone else's deficiencies. Stewart has also been really steady offensively since he quit trying to take it to the rim.

I think 8-8 next year would be quite an accomplishment.

Kodi was 4-7 from 3 pt land. He was 1-3 from everywhere else. Not that I want him jacking 3's. Just pointing out the stats. He's definitely better under the goal getting reboounds and putbacks. But he is almost completely incapable of making his own shot. His inside game leaves much to be desired.

give it a rest, coach. If the tables were turned and we were talking about a particular player (or COACH?) you don't like and they put together a good game you'd come back with exactly what I'm about to say....

One game does not make the player (or coach, if you prefer).

Go troll somewhere else.

off the backboard? He caught it around the free throw line...before coming down he threw it away towards Bost...right to Wall. They got a 3 on that possession.

you are reaching. Osby play HORRIBLE. He played terrible D, couldn't catch a pass, and couldn't make a shot. The only thing (1) I saw him do worth a **** was the put-back.

Myself, Fish, D@A, and a few others have been trying to tell you Sheep that we do have depth. We play 9 players every night. It's all in how the depth is used. Stansbury was forced to use the depth in a different way last night than he liked, and that group turned a deficit into a 7 point lead with 3 minutes left in the game.

If we had not had any depth, Kentucky would have pulled away in the 2nd half due to their superior players. You are all giddy today at the way we played last night, and many of us are sitting here wondering why we cant play like that every night?

Osby just needs some more playing time. His inexperience showed at times but for his overall game was ok. To many folks just look at scoring and don't understand it takesmore than one to make a team. Osby does help us on the boards and on defense, he'll be a good player for us.
