Seems like he has some kind of ax to grind through.Well I’ll give Shanle credit. He hated the hire from day one.![]()

We WERE NOT GETTING URBAN MEYER. I said I would be fine with an FCS no name before we hired Rhule. The problem for an AD is that the fan base keeps demanding a name coach. Open up the checkbook lol. The only name coaches we’ve been able to get have failed.I'm losing faith as well. The backwards hat said a lot. All gimmicks, podcasts, and interviews and no toughness. BTW I wanted Urban Meyer. We needed someone that just wins and doesn't BS around.
The guys we started on the right side of our O line wouldn’t start for any other B1G team. They were missing two dominant OL, etc. We just flat out suck. Our defense is so unathletic. An old lady could juke them into the turf. We have fat, slow, weak players. It's embarrasing.
Got worn out from our offense doing the same.TBF our offense had like 5b straight 3 and outs.
the data seems to back this upBoth of those idiots should just stay in Vegas. Bunch of stupid losers. Matt ain't ever beating a ranked team here at Nebraska. Never.. Fact.
maybe he has had talent here but don't know how to coach it?Rhule has shown no ability to evaluate talent at any position. NU has zero dudes and most of there players couldn’t start for and FCS school.
And because we just hired a G5 guy, Frost. The fan base wanted a P5 coach with HC experience. Well they got it. How's that working out. I personally think it's funny our most successful coaches post Bobby have been coordinators with no HC experience.100% they would have...at first.
Our fanbase not only would have discredited him and everything he has done but they would hate HATED that he did not want to French kiss the fans.
I had something come up at the ranch and didn’t tune in on the radio until it was 14-14. I was shocked we weren’t already down 3 scores. I knew what the 2nd half was going to be when they went up by 10.You saved yourself some time. I watched till the first drive of the second half. After that I have no idea what happened. Like you I don't even know the final score.
Holla
Another slow day on the Iowa board I see.His agent played Neb like a fiddle. PSU was never interested in him. Thats called brotherhood to get your friends paid. Brilliant move by Rhule’s management team.
Lateef isn’t the answer.A lot of teams winning bowl games with backup qbs
I did not think about that, you are totally right. And because we just hired a G5 guy, Frost. The fan base wanted a P5 coach with HC experience. Well they got it. How's that working out. My guess is that it is always a slow day there.Another slow day on the Iowa board I see.
Their DC was elevated to head coach. That was the plan all year. Whittingham didn’t want to step aside.I was more impressed with their OC. Granted, our defense elevates teams, but their schemes, misdirection, and balance are exceptional.
80 million freaking dollars. Probably another 5-10 million on top of that for the assistant buy outs.No we aren't. In the last 20 years we fired a coach that just went to the NC game, we fired a coach that averages over 9 wins a year, we fired the beloved former QB...Rhule is not even close to untouchable and Troy didn't hire him, which makes it even easier to get rid of him.
Rhule is going to be gone after next season.
He absolutely did. He was buddies with Rhule’s OC Joe Brady and Rhule fired him.Seems like he has some kind of ax to grind through.
Frost was a BIG NAME hire. I don’t care that UCF was a G5 school at the time .And because we just hired a G5 guy, Frost. The fan base wanted a P5 coach with HC experience. Well they got it. How's that working out. I personally think it's funny our most successful coaches post Bobby have been coordinators with no HC experience.
even if we had a run stopping D tackle they would managed to scheme him out of the playI had something come up at the ranch and didn’t tune in on the radio until it was 14-14. I was shocked we weren’t already down 3 scores. I knew what the 2nd half was going to be when they went up by 10.
People losing their mind over this performance were delusional if they expected anything different. Lateef was bad but our right side of our O line should have surprised no one. Were still short a run stopping D tackle or two. Imagine that. Utah attacked our weaknesses and destroyed us. Anybody surprised by that needs to check in to an inpatient mental health facility.
His buyout now exceeds 70 million. It will be five more years, 2030 before we can do anything. You have the lunkhead AD to thank for handing him an extension that took his 2025-26 buyout from 54 million to more than 80 million on the date of the extension. He's our coach for at least one more year. Probably two. We just have to live with it.
Dannen will. His buyout of tiny compared to Matt's.The question I have is who will be fired first - Rhule or Dannen?

Most of the fan base doesn't care...there might have been a few donors who complained but it seems the ADs act with impunity and incompetence. I just think our fan base is so zombied into going to the games regardless that it doesn't really matter who the warm bodies are...I think Trev made a terrible choice...I've said it from day 1...but my choice was the guy from Wisconsin so I don't know what to do either. I really just didn't like the "development U" mentality because NIL and Transfer portal were already in full swing. It made no sense to bring in projects and develop them when your roster turns over every year, including your coaching staff. The fact Rhule looked awful, really unhealthy, and was obviously a bullshitter, and hadn't been a successful coach since 2017, and even then still lost 4 games. And I've learned since that he is an ******* and probably a narcissist. And he is fully aware that he is stinking rich and he has all the leverage right now and we can't do anything about it.Most any fan base would have. He was a lotto ticket hire.
Or.....NU has idiots running the athletic department.^^^
That's astonishing, really.
Matt has one heck of an agent.
Just like James Franklin had a huge buyout.80 million freaking dollars. Probably another 5-10 million on top of that for the assistant buy outs.![]()
We can’t do anything about it. So let’s hope the coaching staff currentry in place has it all click for them soonest.
Have to view as opportunity cost. The entire athletic department makes over 200 million in revenue. Football is already top 10 in revenue despite being dogshit...if we are actually good that might jump 10-20% at the least. It will also effect all sports and donor participation. So that 80 million is quickly dissolved by making more money by being good and by getting more donors involved. Can you imagine how many people would donate if Cig was running the show? Right now we are losing money by keeping him as coach because there is market non-participation due to him being such a weirdo and sucking. Football itself makes 116 million, lets say keeping Rhule mutes revenue by 10%..that is 10-15 million a year that is lost by keeping, just by AD revenue, not even donors. Five years from now and that is very equal to the original 80 million buyout. This is why schools just buyout lame duck coaches and move on. Rhule can be fired at any time, but you have to have a good replacement. His buyout now exceeds 70 million. It will be five more years, 2030 before we can do anything. Yea he hates soft little b*tches masquerading as head football coachesSeems like he has some kind of ax to grind through.
Nothing will change. Stadium is full every fall. They are making money. The admin does not care about the win/loss record
Clearly not ready yet. Definitely need a starting caliber QB in the portal. One thing I like about portal season is its like the NFL draft. What coaches tell you or say doesn't mean ****. Who they draft or try and sign during the portal tells you exactly how they feel about your team.Lateef isn’t the answer.
I honestly think we’d be better without him during games. He is the George Costanza of coaches: he should do the opposite of what he thinks he should do.Not Matt. Hell he's lost 3 this year against teams that don't even have a coach.
Against a top 15 team. Who was that?A lot of teams winning bowl games with backup qbs
His agent is probably an idiot. This speaks to how mind-numbingly moronic NU leadership is. There truly are no words to describe the incompetence of Husker football leadership in the past 20 years.^^^
That's astonishing, really.
Matt has one heck of an agent.
My bad ! My asian heritage coming out on NYD“Currentry?” Well, if the main coaches we’ve had couldn’t figure it out, then they never will…
Around the country in big time programs, when a coach, not hired by a current AD, struggles, it's easier to replace said coach. His agent is probably an idiot. I appreciate your take, especially about having a good replacement lined up before making a change. We would still need someone to write a big check (we don’t have that money in reserve).Have to view as opportunity cost. The entire athletic department makes over 200 million in revenue. An entity that makes a billion every 5 years can always find 80 million.. there are lots of way to raise capital if you are a sustainable business like a major college athletic department. You could loan Nebraska 80 million at 7%, get it paid off in 10 years...and make 5 million. Meanwhile the athletic department has something around 3-4 billion in revenue during that time. Nobody in America has the money that they are spending or wasting. Our economy would never work if people had the money before they made an investment.I appreciate your take, especially about having a good replacement lined up before making a change.
