My guess is that it's not exactly the best time to address it. We have a game tonight and UK wants focus to be on that. It makes sense for us to talk about here but I can certainly understand why UK would wait until after the game.

Innocent folks getting hurt or enduring things associated with the rumor. I'm U.K. fan first, but never wish pain on any one.
He didn't even deny it. He said he believes most of what's flying around is rumors. "Most of" would imply that something about it is true, and saying they're "rumors" isn't saying they're fiction.

Getting rid of Stoops sure, but this is not the way you want it to happen. You should never wish that anyone goes through a situation like this. Especially for his family. Wife and kids, packed up and moved because he was given an offer. They followed him here and now this? I'd rather pay the 12m buyout to get him outta here then deal with this scandal.
How do you let him coach tonight if that's the case? I'm not saying you're wrong or right but I just can't see that.
Wouldn't this be ironic. We didn't hire Petrino who would have turn this around because of his character issues but Stoops may have done just as bad and we have had to endure this dumpster fire

I have zero idea why he would coach. But I don't think they expected word of this to travel so fast. Its everywhere now. Just had a drink at a pub. Georgia fan asks me if it's true.
Containing this story has been about as good as U.K. defense stopping the run.
Again, if it's true and he is allowed to coach tonight Barnhart needs to be fired too. Therefore, would assume if he does coach the rumors are bogus.
I thought about this too. Maybe to let the players focus on the game as much as they can. I'm not sure I've ever seen a coach get fired before a game. Granted UK isn't typical when it comes to running football programs so wouldn't put it past them.
I think it makes the most sense to do it Monday if it were true. I think it'd bring an awfully weird energy to CWS is Stoops were canned today. I feel it's most fair to the players to let him coach this game.

Weeks ago I posted that I thought Stoops was guaranteed 2017 because of buyout. Today I no longer believe that to be the case.

Plus him not being on sideline just makes everyone who pays a boatload of money to be there and support the team feel like they've wasted money and time to come to the game without being informed first.
im sure the callers are being screened and wont be allowed on if asking about the rumors
It appears to be a situation where if you aren't always engaged with social media and UK sports websites OR know someone connected, this isn't very common knowledge among the fans.
