because he was showing off and threw the ball before crossing the goal line. And oddly enough, KState gets the ball on the half yard line. Can't blame Mack Brown for pitching a fit.

Said it was an inadvertent TD signal by the official

and he was on the half yard line when he got rid of the ball. I didn't notice, but it must have hit the ground on the field and never went into the end zone. Sort of a technicality on the official's call I think. Apparently if it wasn't inadvertent, it would have been touchback and Texas gets the ball on the 20. I've seen it happen a couple times before but never saw the offense keep the ball.

I don't think it ever went out of bounds so maybe they couldn't rule it a touchback because the officials inadvertently stopped play.
