Kugel is the worst player we’ve ever had.

If he isn’t high, Jans needs to get him an eye exam bc his depth perception is sh¡t.

We had a player whose name was Big Feces, and Kugel frequently plays worse.

The dude is either on or off. Hot or cold. And when he is off or cold, it's a level that is rarely seen.

It sucks because he has a ton of athleticism and clearly knows the game...he just makes mistakes that frequently look like hey are due to being lazy or undisciplined.

I would love to know how Jans views Kugel's role. Maybe Jans wants Kugel to come in and force the issue, which then makes it seem like Kugel is out of control or making dumb decisions.
If it isn't that...then damn, I got nothing.

I do love it when he is on. When his shot is falling and he is playing within himself and disciplined, he is a huge asset.

It’s obviously too late for this, but I wish that we had benched him in January in favor of Jones. Far too many times have we gone into a half this season with Kugel’s stat line being something like 2/0/1 on 1-7 shooting, and I’ve rarely seen a player with so much ability contribute absolutely nothing over long stretches.

This is one of the worst takes I've seen on here. We've got about 11 guys on the team right now who aren't as good as Kugel.

He had a bad game. It seems to happen with him every five or six times out, and the way Jans has managed him hasn't helped.

He's too unselfish. I have no idea why he's passing up open looks for Melendez or Jones. Look at the conference only stats. He's shooting better percentages than Hubbard for that matter.

Kugel is good to have on the floor because teams have to guard him and can't help as much. There is a reason you see Melendez and Jones getting all of these open looks from skip passes and dribble drives. It's because the stats say you don't have to guard them and can help down.

I wonder if it's unselfish, or now he's just lost confidence. Sometimes it looks like he forces a 3, but I think most of those times Jans is telling him to shoot trying to get his confidence back up.

Yeah, no doubt he loses confidence after he misses. But it’s pretty common to see him give up easy looks when he just needs to be assertive.

That’s why I think he’s been mismanaged. If you’ve got a guy like that, he’s got to know he has the freedom to miss. For about the entire season he’s known he’s coming out of he misses a couple shots. Jans does seem to be making an effort there now.

But he’s still a heck of a basketball player who’s more talented than almost everyone on our roster.

He has a bad game every time out. He's passing up open looks because he can't draw iron.

Never seen a guy go from PRETTY GOOD shooting 3s to REALLY BAD. I will say he improved on driving to the basket, but gosh he had to do something to score a point.

Kugel is tailor made for federal government employment.
Except his alleged rampant drug use (according to this board), which would disqualify him for even a Public Trust level of clearance.

ETA: the Drug Free Workplace obviously doesn’t apply to Ketamine Elon and his DOGiEs

While I agree with you, let's be clear. Kugel would be our best player BY FAR on any of Rick Ray's teams. Maybe chicken but not even close. Sad.
