It is unbelievable that some of you think that the University isn't at fault for recruits going to a strip club during an official visit.
Are you really that f'ing stupid? Recruits are NOT under 24 surveillance on their visits. They can come and go as they please around campus, town, etc. That is why some leave the basketball game early. That is why some come with their parents. That is why some just hang out at their hosts apartments and play video games. Some may even go to a strip club. State may have organized activities like, going to the game together, eating at Mullen's house on Sat night, visiting the locker rooms & facilities, etc., but recruits are not brought into a cage and held for 72 hours under lock and key on visit weekends.

As I said before, it makes for great press to make it look like the school and Mullen funded and endorsed the trip. That is the problem I have with all of it and all of the Rebels trying to spread and sell that lie.

your university is responsible for what the recruits do during their visit?

No, they are not under lock and key. They can go different places and do different things.

But you ARE responsible if there is a violation during the trip, seeing as almost everything that goes on during these official visits is paid for by the universities (lodging, plane tickets/gas money, eating, etc etc etc.). I realize that MSU didn't pay for them to go to the strip club, but you are responsible for what goes on with recruits while they are on your official visit.

Is that really that hard to understand?

if they are not expected to be under 24 hour constant supervision and "surveillance" while on their visit then what the visitors do when the university does not have scheduled activities for them CANNOT be the sole responsibility of the university. If from the time they arrive to the time they leave ANYTHING they do IS the responsibility of the university then they most certainly SHOULD be under constant monitoring. As far as I know, once they become student athletes at the universtiy, they are certainly free to go to a strip club on their own time if they want to and there is no NCAA violation so I don't understand how the university is responsible for EVERYTHING a recruit does, including going to a club, while they are visiting. Maybe they should wear one of those house arrest bracelets while they are visiting so a university official knows where they all are at all times for the weekend of the visit. Just because a guy comes in for a visit doesn't mean he is a prisoner of the university while he is there.

And don't try to act like that was an intentional misspelling
